I had to stop playing WoW in April after my son was born, but I am always on this site because I like to keep up with what's going on - You don't play a game faithfully for 5 years and just forget about it, I don't care what my husband says.
Looks badass and I'm super bummed I can't play :(
Have fun, you lucky bastards.

I love Baron Soosdon's work, but let me boil this down for you.
Goblins and their starting zone: "Awesome, funny, unlike Gnomes which were supposed to be funny, but were just stupid and every laughs at them, they bring something in their attitude, and I welcome them warmly to the Horde."
Worgen starting zone: "Like Avatar, pretty but mediocre and boring."
That's taken almost exactly from his video.
The Horde bias is showing plainly. Interspersed with comments about how stupid Gnomes are, and the "Loliaince" when he mentions them.

Baron Soosdon's videos has always been filled with Horde love and Alliance hate, it should be expected by now.
Which is absolutely his right, of course. He's just a guy making machinima.
Drakkenfyre Dec 8th 2010 1:50PM
What I am saying is, take the video as an overview of the zones, don't take it as an actual review.
Wildstaff Dec 8th 2010 1:49PM
I started to watch this video, then he made fun of Gnomes (strike) made it all the way through the Kezan portion but during it he said another gnome joke(really punting jiokes are still funny? grow up dude) and the Lolliance comment(strike two) so then i started watching the gilneas portion. not even 30 seconds in and he used the word furries like 12 times (Stike 3 goodbye sir) needless to say i didn't finish watching the video. but the parts i did see looked nice. dude makes some top notch visuals.
when you CONSTANTLY make fun of a certain faction you cut your viewbase in half. i assure you i will not be watching another one of his videos again, no matter how awesome they look

Wow.. so no one on Alliance side can be laughed at EVER!
You might want to grow a thicker skin otherwise people might start calling you all crybabies.
Might.. maybe..

You didn't read my second comment, did you?
I suggest reading it, so you can see what the point of my post was.

Agreed Drakk. It was beautifully done overall but lost me on the content. It's no big though, it's his review of the zones and pretty much everything he loved about the Goblin experience is what I loath. It's just a taste thing.
Honestly though, the Furry thing is making me want to pull my hair out! LOL, this is my problem. ;)
All that being said, the commercials were BRILLIANT. The Clockwork Orange/Blood Elf Rap thing may be one of my favourite moments in a long time. So - there you go, my bias is such that I really find belfs hilarious, and not in the good way. I know that get’s very old for some people so I’ll TRY my very hardest to tolerate the “furry” thing. XD
This was a convergence of some awesome talent so even if it lost me on the narration it was visually a feast.

It's not Bloods and Crips, it's not life and death, it's a GAME. You are not part of the Alliance "gang" or the Horde "gang", you are playing a GAME. I pay $15 a month to play WoW and if one starter zone isn't as epic as another from the "other side", you know what, I PLAY THE OTHER SIDE! I have level 80's from both factions, and will level them all to 85 because I want to experience all that this GAME has to offer. All this BS about favoritism and whatnot is silly, and if you are getting all butt hurt about how someone is mocking your "gang" then I'd say you have some serious real life issues that you need to address. Calm down, lighten up and enjoy the GAME.
Drakkenfyre Dec 8th 2010 5:45PM
"He favors one side over the other, so don't take this as an actual review, just enjoy the visuals."
Glad you got that message. If someone criticizes your "side", especially using tired and old cliches, such as punting Gnomes, it gets annoying. No one here is complaining about one starting zone being better than another, we are complaining about how the video maker's bias influences the "review', as it's sort of presented.
You are not part of your football team, but those fans will take is just as seriously.
Dreyja Dec 8th 2010 6:01PM
@ Dave, actually you're the only one getting bent out of shape here. All people are saying is that for some of us it detracted from the "humor" of the peice. It's no big dude.
The enjoyment of the "sides" and the stories is just as much a part of the fun as raiding and whatnot for others. It's all good. The reaction doesn't mean they are some kid in a dark room cutting themselves.

Oh, sweetness! Looking forward to seeing this tonight on my good cable connection at home; no way am i going to try to watch 15 minutes of Soosdonfulness on my crappy DSL from work. Curse you, AT&T!
For anyone new to machina, Baron Soosdon is one of the best ways to start. Even worth taking 15 minutes from leveling. ^_^
nineiron Dec 9th 2010 1:13AM
Looking forward to the sequel! And again BARON SOODSON YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beaudenoir Dec 8th 2010 1:31PM
Let's see, Mr Soosdon (or whatever) ruined his almost enjoyable video with his horde kind of narrow-minded comments.
Beau de Noir Dec 8th 2010 1:56PM
Actually it wasn’t "so" awesome at all. The best part was just a copy from another artist work. I am thinking of Cranius.

eva Dec 8th 2010 3:11PM
We are not talking about question of taste. We are talking about that a horde side symptom. I feel like Horde players always need to have some echo about their own greatness, and because they can’t have it they try to insult others.
I share Beaudenoir’s feeling.
This video is simple harsh and unsympathetic. Keep it to yourself Soosdon.
Vilandra Dec 8th 2010 4:34PM
I saw this title as "BTVS Episode 1" and was all like "Why is Buffy on a wow site?" ...
Then I read it more closely and felt sort of dumb, but with a nice little 90's geek nostalgia glow.
Pizzaman4500 Dec 8th 2010 4:52PM
And then the boat...
And then the boat...
And then the boat...
Sank.
Fletcher Dec 8th 2010 5:00PM
Ehhh. I've liked Soosdon's earlier work, but this feels less polished. And the "Lolgnomes Lolalliance lolfurries" thing disenchanted me fast - not because I'm a hardcore Alliance player, but because it's just so freakin' *tired* by now. He even *rickrolls* partway through it! The punting, the rickrolling, the "Omg furries teh devil" thing, it's all so far past its prime it's starting to smell.
In short, 4chan needs to die in a fire.
ickabob7734 Dec 8th 2010 7:02PM
The music and visual presentation, as well as the commercials were most excellent. The blatant horde bias, however, was not. If anything, this just makes me want to punt some goblins!
