Breakfast Topic: Is your guild looking forward to guild perks?

Cataclysm is focusing on many new things and changes to the old ways of doing things. With guild experience being on the forefront of these changes, it is no surprise that suddenly people are taking more notice of their social environment, as it may have an impact on the game once the grind for your own guild goes live. Having a group whose personnel and personality are on the same page as you might be nice if you're planning on receiving some of the benefits (like mounts, special patterns and bonuses to rezzing) immediately.
Some people are very focused on guild perks and have assembled elite crafting and leveling forces or are maintaining the same strict raid teams they've had for a while. Others don't care as much. Blizzard has made it clear that all sorts of guilds can effectively benefit over time from the guild leveling system.
Our guild is especially looking toward having enough people to be able to level up quickly, even if we won't have a bulk of our guild XP coming in from raiding achievements. This bodes well, as we've very quickly started taking on orphans from other servers, alts of people in other guilds and raid teams, and people rolling up new characters.
Does your guild care about the XP system? Are you a close-knit, small guild that will be leveling up slowly, or are you a large raiding guild that things like mass-rezzing appeal to? Or is your guild looking forward to something else entirely?

YES! We hit guild lvl 2 yesterday morning and are poised for lvl 3 this morning!

Hmmm... I keep wondering about this. My guild has been maxing out our guild leveling each day (6246k/6246k) within a few hours and we are still stuck 3/4 of the way to level 2. Am I missing something?

Nevermind! I found me answer in a blue post. I guess we were all too busy sleeping from 3am until 6am EST to get the first day's worth of xp.
"Level 2 is possible.
The cap unlocks every night around 3am. The game released at midnight on Monday, giving guilds approximately three hours to hit cap, which many bigger or more active guilds were able to. So effectively this is Day 3 on the guild progression calendar, even though the first day was only three hours long."

My guild is about to hit level 2 as well!
We'll be getting the 5% bonus to experience right around the time I hit 85. Normally I'd find this humorous (getting a reward the moment it becomes useless), but I'm actually glad that everyone else will be catching up to me 5% quicker.

Are your coworkers looking forward to holiday bonuses?
Are your classmates looking forward to graduation?
Are the members of your [religious gathering place] looking forward to [major holiday of your religion]?
Next time on Breakfast Topic: Do you equip thing on your character or just run around in your starter gear for 85 levels?

What are you talking about, people don't EQUIP things in their first 85 levels, the...

With getting a job and all on a full time regular basis after being laid off for an entire year I went from hardcore to casual player. I am in a hard core raiding guild with room for friends and family which is nice for me, cause I know most of the hardcore guildies will be earing achievements for the guild left and right while the casual players will be working on the more random things like murdering critters....

A guild on my server gave up leveling to get the world first critter kill achieve. With the whole guild working on it they actually got the achieve a few hours before our server had an 85.
Fletcher Dec 9th 2010 8:15AM
We've been frantically killing critters left right and center, but we're still a long way away from that armadillo pup.
SunGod228 Dec 9th 2010 8:48AM
We were able to farm about 4k the other night, still a good bit to go

TJC Dec 9th 2010 12:22PM
Not sure how but my GM and few officers already got the 50k murderation of critters in a day of hardcore trying. We are not sure what they did.
I told them to keep going and murder 50,000 more for good measure...cant post the reply to that
A5 Dec 9th 2010 8:45PM
We got the 100,000 critter achievement in about 20 minutes. I won't say where but do a little research before Blizz finds out we're pulling the wool over their eyes. ;)
Angus Dec 9th 2010 8:15AM
We too can't wait for the gated perks.
calling it leveling is a misnomer, doesn't matter how much work your guild puts into it, they pretty much all will hit the same level the same day.

Honestly, I haven't played my Horde character (I made a Worgen Death Knight). He's in a guild (Blood Elf Holy Paladin), but alas, I have no clue how they're doing and honestly? Don't care. I've love hanging around and raiding with them, but I love my Death Knight more and am working on Lorrmaster in Eastern Kingdoms (2 more areas left).

My guild is very much trying to get the guild perks. A question though. One of my toons got a message in the dialog box that said: "You have hit the maximum guild level experience this week. You can no longer earn guild xp this week". Or something like that. Does anyone know what this is about? If there is a toon cap, when does it reset?
