Are there any ever-so-small quirks about the old world that you'd have thought would have changed a zone drastically but you were greatly disappointed to find out it/they pretty much stayed the same?

One of the first things I did was get my flying skill for the old world and then IMMEDIATELY flew over to the house at the top of the huge waterfall near Stormwind (it's the flightpath between SW and IF).
There is a gnome sitting in the house and outside are a whole bunch of sheep. One of them is mechanical. A little cool thing happens when you attack it.

I always really enjoyed Arathi Basin and I wish that the Arathi Highlands had been changed somewhat to elaborate on what was going on there. The highlands should be the climax to the Tirisfall->silverpine->Hillsbrad/Alterac story but it was just glazed over.
