The Queue: Heroic as heck

I'm ready for heroics. Are you?
Astalnar asked:
Is there any chance worgen will get a unique DPS form (wolf instead of cat), same way as trolls got bat instead of bird?
Worgen already have a unique model for cat form, the same way trolls do. Worgen also got a unique flight form. If you're asking if Blizzard is going to scrap the unique cat form model they already gave worgen in favor of something else, the answer is assuredly no.
enache_andrey asked:
Any signs of the new Lich King (Bolvar Fordragon) in Cataclysm?
None yet.
John asked:
I have been disenchanting green random drops and quest rewards that are not upgrades or that are replaced. Lots of essences. Very very little dust. Also, more dust from weapons/shields/trinkets than from armor, which is backwards from the typical DE results for original/BC/LK items. Is this expected?
Right now it looks like dusts and essences have switched places in terms of rarity, though since we haven't had comment from Blizzard, we can't be sure that it's intended yet.
Neuropox asked:
Any way I can get my bank alt that nifty top hat that you get in the worgen starting quests? I know that one is BoP but is there another somewhere my main can farm up for my lowly bank alt NAZDAQ?
There is a tailoring recipe called High Society Top Hat that produces an item identical to Lord Walden's Top Hat.
Velleekwitay asked:
Why does Greymane hang out in Stormwind while the rest of the worgen reside on the other side of the world in Darnassus?
If you're in Darnassus, so is Greymane. If you're in Stormwind, he's there too. The entry into Darnassus for worgen indicates that Greymane is going to Stormwind to ask King Wrynn for help, which he provides -- if you bring a Horde character through Silverpine, you'll see that the 7th Legion is there fighting for Gilneas. The 7th Legion is the absolute best army that the Alliance has to offer, so their presence there says something.
Cudds asked:
Can you tell me how to pronounce Vash'jir? I usually say, "VASH-gir, VASH-jeer, VAG-i-sil... You know, the underwater one."
Pretend you raided Serpentshrine Cavern, killed Lady Vashj and looted her ear. In your bag you find a Vashj'ir.
Alternatively, it rhymes with "I think the best character on DS9 was Doctor Bashir."

I believe this has already summed up the situation.

To paraphrase someone's sig from the MMO-Champion boards, don't look for logic in a game that mails you dragons.

Dogs = highly modified and domesticated type/subspecies/something of wolves, I don't know the exact particulars. The whole scary thing about wolves ("they'll eat me or all my chickens aieee!") has been domesticated right out of them.
Worgen = combination of human and the scary thing about wolves.
Dogs =/= Worgen. Why is this such a hard idea for people to get? Because, of course, they want to make stupid jokes that conflate the two.
Crowqueen Dec 11th 2010 7:54PM
Dogs evolved from wolves. Calling it a dog is not exactly so far-fetched.
My druid is feral too, before you ask. Seemed to make sense.
ophelia Dec 11th 2010 11:43PM
Because, once again --
It is not 'tank form'. It is 'bear form'.
It is not 'dps form'. It is 'cat form'.
:P

Cat Form = CAT Form.
Bear Form = BEAR Form.
Flight Form = SOMETHING THAT CAN FLY Form.
That should help clear things up.
Worgen get a unique Cat Form model the same way the other three races do. They have the same rigging as any other cat in the game, but have different head designs and decorations. Each of the models has a variety of textures that alter the color of the form based on the player's skin or hair color.
Ditto for Bear and Flight Forms, the major difference of course being that for their Flight Forms, trolls get a bat model while the other three get unique-looking birds.
Also, @Sukugaru: Worgen are half-wolf, and dogs are just domesticated wolves. They started as druids that could transform into feral wolves (Pack Form). They created the Scythe of Elune to try and retain their humanity when transformed, but it instead trapped them in a cursed half-wolf, half-humanoid state.

Less poop... More outhouses..
Literally.. I know that I've done at least 3 quests that directly involve me searching an outhouse.

Does Krasus play a roll in Cataclysm? What is Rhonin up to?
vampyrcow Dec 11th 2010 2:41PM
Rhonin is desperately trying to find a gas station in deserted Northrend (at this time of night!) to refuel Dalaran so he can drive it home to EK.
devotedaversion Dec 11th 2010 2:45PM
Haven't seen Krasus yet, but Rhonin is still Mary-suing it up in dal. Though I suspect we will be seeing both of them(along with broxigar the red, and young versions of malfurion, illidan, and tyrande) in the upcoming War of the Ancients raid via caverns of time

Am I wrong to be annoyed that guilds are already 11/12 while most of us are still trying to get to 85? It's somewhat expected for guilds like Paragon to steamroll content, but theyve barely had time to run heroics. Doesn't that say something about the difficulty level of Cataclysm raids?
Evandrial Dec 11th 2010 2:21PM
these are the top guilds in the world. if they're not steamrolling content, they're doing it wrong.
they also had the advantage of testing the raids which they are currently steamrolling in the beta. none of this content is really new to them.
Wraithanne Dec 11th 2010 2:27PM
No, it says that they're just That Damn Good. Also WTB the time to be able to do that.
Sadman71 Dec 11th 2010 2:30PM
Actually have you downed any?
I know people get shocked when these top end guilds down bosses so quickly and they forget that these guys have been raiding together for along time. They undertsand the mechanics of their class and they trust the others in the raid to do their job and they are able to concentrate on what they need to do.
I have run these raids on beta, and my own guild will start pushing content tomorrow. Does this mean that the difficulties of the raids are ez, no. It means that the gulds pushing content are great teams. Wanna see how hard the raids are...Pug them.
Dont base the difficulties of the Cata raids on what hardcore raiders are doing if you are just a cauasl raider.( I assume you are a casual raider, or you would already be 85 and beginning to push content) No disrespect meant there
xanddra Dec 11th 2010 2:33PM
That's like having someone like Derek Jeter participating in your community softball league, and complaining that they're winning all the time. They've run the content so many times, they have it down pat. They've also been practicing in Beta, so that helps them too.
Just because the easy stuff is easy for the "pros" doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.
Besides, there's always Heroics...
Revynn Dec 11th 2010 2:40PM
@ Sadman - No, I havent downed any yet but I'm not a casual raider. We managed 11/12 Heroic ICC before we started wiping on the attendance boss and took the rest of Wrath off. It's just been a fairly crazy week with family dinners, shift changes at work, concerts, internet problems (my ISP went out at exactly 12:03AM on tuesday . . . /facepalm), and the ever present wife and kids so I just haven't had the time to dedicate to leveling. My guild will probably start 10's next week
For the record, I'm not QQing or trolling, I was just expecting (hoping) that world firsts wouldn't happen in the first lockout.
Sadman71 Dec 11th 2010 3:09PM
@Revynn-Grats on 11/12 Heroic Icc, but this seems to be a major problem since Wrath. Content down doesnt make you hardcore. I am not a hardcore raider and we went 12/12 (H)ICC. Hardcore raiders spend 7 days a week learning content, undergeared. They spend evey free moment playing and learning their class. In Vanilla there was a clear difference in HC raiders and casuals. This line began to blur in Wrath. They started making the content puggable (at least in normal mode)
People will argue that I am wrong with this, but I would have gave anything to have a 30% buff to dam and healing during 40 man Naxx.
HC raiders are always the first to down this content, I mean people were pugging ICC LK kills well before Cata dropped.
I know you werent trolling, but making a comment about the difficulties of the raid based on the speed that they are doing them is not a true measure of the content.
I truely expected that these guilds would be downing these bosses in the first lockout after running them in Beta.

Having randomly gotten into a dungeon run with one of Paragon's members for Throne of Tides yesterday... we steam rolled the instance with myself as the Tank in questing/crafted greens and not even 84 yet DK (Cantus - Moon Guard US), he was a paladin I think, and my guildy as a warrior dps (Hyrfjord - Moon Guard US).
What made it so easy? Throne of Tides, as do most of the new instances if not all, use old fight mechanics in new ways and once you figure it out, they are easy. I didn't have to worry about the Paragon member (dps paladin I believe) going psycho like I did a noob-boomkin who kept using typhoon in Stonecore - oh the pain that was.
So yes, some guilds are blowing passed content like water because they do their homework. :P
Evil Midnight Lurker Dec 11th 2010 2:18PM
Is there a "top hat plus monocle" entry that will produce the same results as that banker in the Dwarven District?
Evil Midnight Lurker Dec 11th 2010 2:18PM
Recipe, not entry. Don't know where my fingers went.
