The Queue: Heroic as heck

I'm ready for heroics. Are you?
Astalnar asked:
Is there any chance worgen will get a unique DPS form (wolf instead of cat), same way as trolls got bat instead of bird?
Worgen already have a unique model for cat form, the same way trolls do. Worgen also got a unique flight form. If you're asking if Blizzard is going to scrap the unique cat form model they already gave worgen in favor of something else, the answer is assuredly no.
enache_andrey asked:
Any signs of the new Lich King (Bolvar Fordragon) in Cataclysm?
None yet.
John asked:
I have been disenchanting green random drops and quest rewards that are not upgrades or that are replaced. Lots of essences. Very very little dust. Also, more dust from weapons/shields/trinkets than from armor, which is backwards from the typical DE results for original/BC/LK items. Is this expected?
Right now it looks like dusts and essences have switched places in terms of rarity, though since we haven't had comment from Blizzard, we can't be sure that it's intended yet.
Neuropox asked:
Any way I can get my bank alt that nifty top hat that you get in the worgen starting quests? I know that one is BoP but is there another somewhere my main can farm up for my lowly bank alt NAZDAQ?
There is a tailoring recipe called High Society Top Hat that produces an item identical to Lord Walden's Top Hat.
Velleekwitay asked:
Why does Greymane hang out in Stormwind while the rest of the worgen reside on the other side of the world in Darnassus?
If you're in Darnassus, so is Greymane. If you're in Stormwind, he's there too. The entry into Darnassus for worgen indicates that Greymane is going to Stormwind to ask King Wrynn for help, which he provides -- if you bring a Horde character through Silverpine, you'll see that the 7th Legion is there fighting for Gilneas. The 7th Legion is the absolute best army that the Alliance has to offer, so their presence there says something.
Cudds asked:
Can you tell me how to pronounce Vash'jir? I usually say, "VASH-gir, VASH-jeer, VAG-i-sil... You know, the underwater one."
Pretend you raided Serpentshrine Cavern, killed Lady Vashj and looted her ear. In your bag you find a Vashj'ir.
Alternatively, it rhymes with "I think the best character on DS9 was Doctor Bashir."

I'm not sure why people keep asking if Worgen druids will get a different DPS form, when, lore-wise, cat form makes perfect sense. The race that it DOESN'T make sense for? Trolls, who learned druidism completely differently from the other three races. The Tauren, Night Elves, and Worgen all learned the same form of druidism, with slight changes depending on their race. They believe in the same Ancients, and commune with the same spirits that allow them to shift into their different forms.
The troll druids don't, and yet, they have the same forms (except for flight form). Can't figure that out, lore-wise.

More importantly, it's not "DPS Form", it's CAT Form. People say DPS form because they think it somehow cleverly disguises the fact that it's not called that at all.
Frankly, worgen turning into a wolf-like cat makes a hell of a lot more sense than players clicking on an ability called Cat Form and expecting it to turn them into a dog.
Justin Dec 12th 2010 4:01AM
Very true, but I used the term "DPS form" to denote both the official (cat form) and the potential (wolf, tiger, monkey, unicorn, etc.) forms that are or could be used for melee DPS combat.

Bashir, eh?
I was always partial to Dax. Not only was she smart and funny, but she was hot, too. Too bad there was a disagreement, and they replaced her with Ezri Dax in the last season.

Let me put in, my favorite character however was O'Brian.
Vladeon Dec 11th 2010 3:59PM
I agree, I think that O'brien was probably the most interesting and well written characters, next of course being Captain Sisko (especially in the first season). But I got to say, the actresses that played Jadzia and Ezri were both very attractive, it was a shame that there weren't more episodes that featured these characters. It's especially disconcerting when there's entire episodes where the only thing Jadzia says is, *smiles knowingly*

At a mini convention-like Q&A session with several of the crew, someone said they noticed the writers liked to "beat up on" O'Brian, and asked Colm Meany if he enjoyed that. He kind of grimaced, and said "Sure, I loved it", and mumbled a few curses, and smiled, and everyone laughed.
If I remember correctly, there was some kind of disagreement between Terry Farrell and the producers, and that's why she left. The same thing happened for Gates McFadden. Supposedly one of the producers or someone sexually harrassed her, and that's why she left in season 2 of TNG. She later came back due to fan requests.

Hypnotic Dust is the only thing holding back my enchanting. I've got essences all over the place but no dust. :(
darksky Dec 11th 2010 5:13PM
Worry not, Blizzard has fixed the dust/essence ratio! At least on select servers. Could be pending a server restart for your realm still, but as of this morning, my disenchanting is going swimmingly.
I can also now brew a mean cup o' joe, thanks to the zeppelin-full of cocoa beans finally arriving in Orgrimmar.
Merus Dec 11th 2010 11:57PM
I was under the impression that sub-level-300 armour dissolved into essence while weapons dissolved into dust, and post-300 it was the other way around.
I'm going to go through Hyjal (I did Vashj'ir) to confirm.

I keep trying to correct my comment and it keeps breaking! I meant to end that comment with "[heart emote] IPA", but the comment system does not like the less-than-three heart. >:[

Try the alt-3 heart instead: ♥
(hold down alt, press '3' on the numb pad, release both: ♥)

Not entirely sure if this will work, but we will test it right here!
It may be able to create the "<" character through the html code & l t ;
Kuro Majutsukai Dec 11th 2010 3:27PM
I sincerely wish I had thought of that.

I've been running heroics for two days now. So yeah, I'm ready.

"Alternatively, it rhymes with 'I think the best character on DS9 was Doctor Bashir.'"
I agree wholeheartedly.
Ruta Dec 11th 2010 7:28PM
Garak would like a world with you about that opinion.
