I've only recently decided to get my feet wet as a healer, so I may not have a base for comparison that other posters have from healing in previous expansions, but I'm quite pleased with the spec at this point. I haven't run into any mana roadblocks healing 5-mans, mostly just by being aware of how much damage my spells heal, casting accordingly, and taking advantage of my free heals as much as possible.

I think what's great about your post here is that you have no memory of how it was in wrath... Many healers from the wrath era are logging into their healers of yore and finding them completely different, and the adjustment has been very tough. I think that a majority of the QQ about healer mana issues and throughput from other healing classes really boils down to not taking the "new" style as a failure from the start. Everyone wants to play the Wrath game in a Cataclysm era, and it's just not working.
You have demonstrated that from your experience, mana is manageable. As always, a smart player will adjust and work with the tools they are given. Everyone should take note of Haohmaru's post here. I think there's a bit of sage wisdom in the new healer here.
