I think this is potentially the best expac yet. However, there are some things I'm just seeing and feeling in regards to its popularity. Alot of the older players are not taking this all that seriously, very few of us have rushed to 85 in my guild. In contrast, we have a ton of new guys in the guild who have hit 85 already. Also, i haven't really touched the new content yet. I did maybe 2-3 hours of questing and instances, then went back to my level 30 warrior.

Also, quite a few people I talked to haven't even gotten the expac yet, and why not. Its not like you need it to get the most use out of the initial 1-60. For a new person, i say sure grab the first 3 if you can cheaply, but wait until you have an 80 to get cata. Only thing you are missing is goblin/worgen, old world flight (which isn't a big deal prior to 80, since you fly at 60 = outlands), and archiology, which is just a toy really like fishing. Hardly mandatory stuff.

Anyway my point is there are probably a ton of people who haven't bought it and may never buy it, yet still play. This is in contrast to the other two expacs where the all the new stuff was locked behind a wall, so you really needed to upgrade to see it.
