You're probably right about most of your post, but wrong about the timing. WoW will probably not end when subscriptions start to lag - Blizz would almost certainly run it on a free-to-play basis (like so many of the smaller MMO's already do) for as long as there are still people willing to play. At that time - expect the game to get smaller, updates less frequent and more and more content to cost money. Until it gets to the point where the balance shifts too far and the cost of running it starts to outweigh what all but the most diehard fans are prepared to spend. At that point it will die.Perhaps not even completely then. There are illegal servers now. I would not be surprized if some fans keep a few up after the fact - if only for retrogaming purposes.
