I was excited about the mount, now it is a free for all -_-Oh well, maybe next time...

A free-for-all? Or a fee-for-all?!?......I'll just go out the side door

It's not like it's incredibly expensive or anything... It will still be a rare mount, I think. Just not limited to Alchemy which, when you think about it, is gonna make you a whole 'lotta money as an Alchemist as people start wanting it. Truegold will become even more of a commodity, and if you do find the Vial of the Sands recipe, that's another thing you can potentially charge thousands of gold for. Think about it; How many Alchemists will have the patience and endurance to level Archaeology and then spend a long, long time grinding Kalimdor digsites for a chance at the Tol'vir Canopic Jar, which may or may not contain the recipe. You can take advantage of that, if you're one of those Alchemists.

is the recipe itself BoP? Cause i'd rather just pay someone to farm it for me

The recipe is still BoP according to wowhead. This is how the Jeeves recipe worked (engineers had to farm mechanicals for the pattern).
