The hammer from Tol Barad is Nice but only slightly better than the reward from The Crucible of Carnage: The Twilight Terror!; Gurgthok's Garish Gorebat.

The 3G only requires a day or two of patience but the Shimmering Morningstar is 85 commendation points which is many many days of effort so I would say it is not as attractive as a pre raid item. I already feel like I need to grind rep with several factions just by doing Normal and Heroic dungeons, throw dailies in the mix and it becomes a massive time commitment.

Just saying that you might want to amend the thread to include that silly quest reward.
