Just wanted to mention - early in the article you mention how crappy spirit is and say that we should avoid it, but then you go on to say that if no-one else wants it you can always "pick it up and reforge spirit to something else". You can't reforge spirit, it's a primary stat. Only secondary stats (hit, crit, haste, mastery etc) can be reforged.

I swear I just did just that last night on a neck piece from Earthen Ring since I had money to blow and it was a dumb upgrade a couple of zones before heroics--spirit to hit, at least in part?

You can reforge spirit. You can not however reforge Agility, Intellect, Stamina, Strength, Resilience, and Attack Power. You also can not use reforging to add to a stat that is already on the item. More info can be found here, http://www.wowpedia.org/Reforging

"You can't reforge spirit, it's a primary stat. Only secondary stats (hit, crit, haste, mastery etc) can be reforged."Spirit actually is, indeed, reforgeable. Only primary stat that is.

It is possible to reforge Spirit into a secondary stat. I did that to several pieces when reforging was possible before Cataclysm released to get some Mastery on my gear.Just remember, you cannot reforge to get something that is already on that piece. If the piece already has hit and mastery, you cannot reforge Spirit to get either of them, but you could say get crit if the piece did not have any already.
