That's a good point that I didn't consider, as I haven't reached that point. Thanks for pointing it out!
Asmor Dec 16th 2010 2:22PM
Yeah... How about "no". Does "no" work for you?
Why would they expect us to have to expend a relatively costly component for a buff?
francis2557 Dec 16th 2010 3:43PM
There's no 'have' about it. Gearing up is also expensive and would make the dungeons easier. No one is twisting your arm. At some point, a lot of people will max Arch and demand for these items will drop, and it will make leveling alts easier.

your Tol'vir Secrets link shows the Whispers of the Djinn item text.

At what skill levels do rare and epic items become available to go into your archaeology queue?
I read that the max-level epics become aviliable to enter your queue at 450 skill. What about the rares? And is it different for each race/track? For example The fossilized hatchling becomes available shortly after 100 skill. Is there a good resource to look this information up?

That should be somewhat accurate.

Like hell I'll give up my stones for a minute and temporary buff. Esp if the group fails and I'm out a stone!
Barinthos Dec 16th 2010 2:45PM
Someone on the blizz forums said that it persists through death. Either way, depending on what they're going for on the AH, it's most likely not worth it.
yunkndatwunk Dec 16th 2010 2:39PM
irregardless of the cost, why are some 5% buffs and others 10% buffs? I would expect the buffs to all be equal, unless some of those are much harder to get, but it sounds like they are all equally rare.

Thumbs down for "irregardless."

The nerf bat swings one time!

Hrm... spend my keystones leveling Archaeology or use them to buff my group... achaeology or group... Sorry, Archaeology.
GerardthePriest Dec 16th 2010 2:58PM
Keystones were pretty cheap on my server, but I'm guessing they're about to go up in price...

I got the Fossil Raptor mount last night, it was my new fossil artifact at lvl 170. It looks AMAZING, especially in shadowform!!!
Uriah Dec 16th 2010 3:15PM
I bet that does look killer in Shadowform! Now I need to get one on my priest :D
Uriah Dec 16th 2010 3:05PM
Looks like my tip got through!

Sorry, Uriah! There was supposed to be a link to your site in there. Fixed now.

HAH. I'm going to blow a hugely sought after item for a negligible buff for an instance run? Not a chance.
Jyetie Dec 16th 2010 3:20PM
Hmm...
Keystone or repair bill...
I'm gonna have to go with spending a keystone here. (Especially if you run with guildies and split the cost/alternate on who does it/get some out of the gbank...)
T Dec 16th 2010 3:46PM
This is about the stupidest thing I've seen in awhile. I'm expected to burn one of these keystones on a 5-man run with people I know nothing about? No thank you. It is possible, at some point in the far future, that I'll have keystones to burn. Right now my Archaeology is almost capped, but I will need keystones for a long time, especially Tol'vir, Night Elf and Dwarf. All 3 races offer weapons and trinkets that are useful, to say nothing of the Tol'vir related mounts. There is no way in hell I'm wasting one of these on a PUG. Hell, I won't use the Tol'vir ones on even a guild run. I donate alot of time, money and gear to my guild, but this is ridiculous.
