General
Paladins
Halls of Origination
- Bonuses from Embrace of the Shale Spider and Blessing of Forgotten Kings can no longer stack.
- Completing Archaeology projects will once again contribute to the guild achievement Making History once the player relogs.
- The Orgrimmar portal to Mount Hyjal should now appear for players who flew directly into Hyjal to start questing, rather than take the Moonglade portal.
- The old and busted Winter's Veil decorations in Brill have been disabled.
Paladins
- Ancient Power now has a 30-second maximum duration and will properly be canceled when zoning or relogging.
- Glyph of Seal of Insight now correctly increases healing done by Word of Glory and Light of Dawn while Seal of Insight is active.
- The Mana Tide Totem hotfix from yesterday has been reverted. The Mana Tide buff no longer stacks, as this had a major impact on encounter design.
- It is no longer possible to waste a Soulstone by attempting to use it on a dead target. The player will receive an Invalid Target error message at the completion of their channel. In a future patch, we intend this functionality to work correctly, allowing a Soulstone to be used to instantly resurrect a dead target.

- The damage of Pact of Darkness cast by Temple Shadowlancer has been adjusted in normal and Heroic difficulty.
- Siamat will cast Deflecting Winds after a few seconds of entering combat regardless of any abilities used against him at the start of the encounter.
- The damage of Dust Flail cast by Lockmaw has been adjusted in normal difficulty.
- The Crystal Shards creatures in the Corborus encounter are now level 86, down from 88.
- Both normal and Heroic versions of Heart of Ignacious apply 20-second cooldowns on other similar items, rather than the full 2-minute duration.

- Pyrite Ore is prospectable at 500 Jewelcrafting skill, down from 525.
- Darkbrew Lager can be learned at 415 Cooking skill, down from 425.
- The Engineering item High-Powered Bolt Gun can no longer be used in Arena and Rated Battleground matches.
- Engineers can now purchase Smooth Cogwheels from Frank Natale using 4x Handful of Obsidium Bolts.

so they go on to fix minor soulstone issue which barely bothered anyone (i never seen any threads about it), but they still won't fix soulburn - there are dozens of threads on lock forums. they won't fix soul link either. the way blizz does things is unbelievable. they prioritize minor things over major stuff.
Erinorofdarkspear Dec 16th 2010 10:06PM
Easy things are easy to fix. Just because those weren't addressed this time around doesn't mean they aren't working on them.
Derick Dec 16th 2010 10:07PM
Maybe it was easier to implement the smaller change with this patch and they're still working on the other? You're assuming a lot.
Tereth Dec 16th 2010 10:08PM
Minor things tend to be easier to fix then major issues, hence Blizzard will fix a minor thing quickly because it's very little effort that needs to be put in to fix it, but major tings require a ton more time to actually make sure it works correctly.
Kurash Dec 16th 2010 10:11PM
Or, possibly, this was an easy fix to take care of and get out of the way, so they can then focus on the bigger, more time-consuming fixes people are asking about.
csjenova Dec 16th 2010 10:13PM
Or they have different people working on different fixes and some are faster/easier than others. But we'll go with lazy/incompetent instead!
SlimPickens42 Dec 16th 2010 10:14PM
It might be a simple fact of the soulstone bug being easier to fix than either of the ones that you mentioned.

Hot Fix, meaning, Very Small Patch which is almost not noticeable. If they're gonna change spells used in rotations or spells that make a class good at something they're gonna think longer and test it harder before releasing it in an incremental patch. There's this thing called Balance and in a game like WoW (which attempts to merge both PvE and PvP using the same mechanics/specializations), Balancing can be a harder task. Hence why you most likely see a class change in every, single, patch/hotfix.
Alanid Dec 17th 2010 12:11AM
there a lot of things that cannot be changed with a hotfix, and have to wait for a content patch.

"LOLOLOLOL EZ FIXT IS EZ FIX LOLOLOL"
This argument is neither logical nor valid in the case of the bugs the original poster has pointed out or in the case of issues from the beta that (as anyone who was on the beta can testify to) ended stupidly early with major issues untouched. Larger issues that have been known for weeks -- or dare I say months -- and have been "looked into" with no further updates are difficult to explain away with the typical "Blizz is god knows all suckle at teet of Blizz CY@." I'm looking at you Masochism bug, SW: D polymorph bug, fixes that, in order to "fix" would simply mean reverting back to an already working system. Abilities and mechanics that work, then suddenly don't, are difficult for me to believe to be outside the realm of comprehension, such that consumers are left waiting from the drop of 4.0 till a week into release for answers. Should thou criticize the Blizz, thou shalt be smote with ye olde downvote button.
Zanathos Dec 17th 2010 3:34AM
You were deservedly downvoted. Blue posters have commented many times in response to QQ about minor issues getting fixed first is often because minor issues are easily resolved. Bigger issues tend to require time, testing, and inclusion in a patch. There's also a limit to how radically they can tweak things without taking realms down and patching. Just because you're unwilling to process the above explanations doesn't make them illogical or invalid. It might make YOU illogical though.

omfg, these site is full of stupid fan boys who dont know a thing about the game.
soulstone vs soulburn = same type of issue, minor and simple. the problem is no one cares about one of them and then go all the way to spend time and fix that particular one, instead of the one that everyone is so frustrated about.
Liam Dec 17th 2010 8:39AM
You can always tell who understands the concepts of computer coding and who doesn't.
"Abstract ease must translate into ease of coding."
Right.
Red Viking Dec 17th 2010 9:27AM
I find it interesting that whenever someone rightfully gets called out, they always, always, always turn around and call everyone who did so to them a worthless fanboy who doesn't know how to play.
It's sad how predictable it is.
Tim Dec 16th 2010 10:13PM
I give it a month before Blizzard says you know what were tired of all you people whining and having to fix refix repair what we just fixed revert back from the fix heres 75 talent points do what you want with them
Avan Dec 16th 2010 10:31PM
Why would they do that? They spent a lot of time on making the new talent trees work. They're not about to scrap it without trying to make them better. If they even can be made better, that is.
zubbiefish Dec 16th 2010 11:52PM
Yup, you're right. If they don't get it 100% on the 1st try they'll just give up.
Falcom Dec 17th 2010 2:34AM
You must be very successful in life.
SR Dec 17th 2010 5:07AM
I'm sure they don't just go and say "screw it" like with your grammar and punctuation.
It's just SO painful to see.
I will admit, however, that I wouldn't mind having 75 points again. I liked the customization.
Bourne Dec 16th 2010 10:16PM
What does "has been adjusted" mean? Was the damage increased or reduced?
