Dear Death Knights,
While I do admire your ability to maintain in a world PVE experience, if any of you shits Death Grip on a mob again, I will Shadowmeld, and you will die.
Sincerely,
This Guy

Ahh the benefit of being a night elf, sadly I play a human paladin and the best I can do if the group pisses me off is bubble hearth.

Can I just add DEATH GRIP is NOT an opening move?

Then again, good DKs will use Death Grip to bring a caster or ranged attacker tothe tank and then IMMEDIATELY switch targets so the tank can generate threat on the DG'd mob.

What kaphik said. Death Grip should only be used when requested or questing/PvP. And don't forget Strangulate and Mind Freeze!

OK. I'll just ignore the caster mobs that keeps hitting you with fireballs and just work on the mob you're currently attacking. Death Grip has it's uses. A good DK knows when and where to use it.

Ok so at least they used Death Grip on something. It was way more fun being a tank and spinning Malygos away from clothies who refuse to move and trying to keep sparks away while two DKs stood way back NOT using Death Grip or Chains of Ice on said sparks, and then getting yelled at about not getting sparks away from Malygos' mouth myself.
Now you actually *Have* to use crowd control aka sheeppulling on mobs! All the time! And mages ask The Queue "why I am always being asked to sheep things?" LAWL!
Yay, raiding!

@Chandler
I thought that bubblehearthing was gone now, since the bubble lasts less time than the hearthstone?

Deathgrip has some amazing uses. I've saved potential wipes a few times in cata heroics. I forget the name of the dungeon but it has a long hallway with several packs of adds and patrollers that when aggroed will run off and grab the nearest adds. Pally pulled casters in w/ his shield but didn't notice the patroller who immediately went to grab his buddies. I gripped him in just a few yards before he was able to aggro. Also useful for pulling in that stray sheep(broken by a death coil or strangulate so as can be re-sheeped) that's way out yonder when an add pack/boss is coming and will aggro via that sheep. I obviously dont throw it around all willynilly but it is a very useful pve tool.

I'm not going to let a caster wipe my healer out when I can death grip a mob and let the tank pick it up off of me, assuming they are a tank of ANY caliber. DK DPS starting a pull that way are morons. Guys like me are properly doing their jobs. Learn the difference.

Dear Tank,
I Death Gripped the caster mob who has been standing way over there since the start of the pull because I got tired watching it fire Shadow Bolts up the healer's ass. Please pick up aggro and stop looking at me like I'm bad for paying attention. Also, lrn2pullranged with LOS or silence.
Thanks,
Death Knight

As a bear tank with no ranged silences, I usually request death knights death grip and silence casters to me. If you know they are going to do it, it's not hard to taunt the mob off of them.
On the other hand, if I catch another rogue or hunter pulling EVERY mob in an instance again after repeated warning not to (or to at least midirect in the hunter's case), I'm giving up on tanking altogether.
DPS, your 20 minute queues are going up to two hours unless you L2P better. Just sayin'...

Bubblehearth is technically gone, but you can Bubblepot instead!
Bubble, Potion of Deepholm! Voila!
(If Bubble allows you to use it in combat, that is...)

I still remember the worst use of Death Grip I ever saw. I was in hPOS, at the start of the run where there are those three big bad skellies and a cliff you can jump down from but not easily get back up. I was fighting one of said skellies, and the DK was jumping around being an idiot.
He jumped off the cliff. Since I'm bad at telling stories, you probably already know what's coming up.
After bouncing around like an idiot for a few seconds trying to reach the mob I was tanking, he decided that since he couldn't reach it (even though me and the other three group members were all up on the cliff), the smart thing to do was to Death Grip it.
Me and the healer (who were both on Vent with each other at the time) were shocked. To this day, I still shake my head a little at that.
