Exactly. I see so many arguments that avoidance and physical are useless against magic damage. They are not, because the less physical damage you take right before the dragon breathes on you, the more hp you'll have. The less physical damage you take after the dragon breathes on you, the less mana the healer has to spend to heal you back up.
I've only done normal Cata instances so far, but I've been surprised to see how long I survive with 10k hp sometimes after severe damage. It looks like nothing when I have 120k+ max health, but with a cooldown popped, that hot or small AoE heal coming through can be just enough for a surprising amount of time.
