Well, they need to establish her as going even further and then ultimately being discovered.
A friend rightly pointed out that the Forsaken are extremely, even fanatically, loyal to Sylvanas. They need to do something so terrible that those with a conscience would have to defect.
One real possibility is Lillian Voss if she's properly developed as a character. Her background is such that even if she does come to accept the Forsaken's claim to Lordaeron that she'd fight the forced subjugation of another free being's mind (Koltira) to be an act of war upon all sentient undead.
Regardless, I think they need to do a strong 180 degrees on Sylvanas or she's going to end up a raid boss somewhere as well as the Forsaken will have a new leader.
