I do not see why small guilds did not disband prior to cata.One thing I noticed is that when you have a few 80s getting to 85, you and the guild are capped. Once your main actives get to 85, progressions slow down a lot.Look at the last few levels of guild perks. Once big guilds get to that level, how can small guild possibly recruit/retain people? Either Blizzard is spectacularly incompetent or they designed it to eliminate smaller guilds.
