Why would you prospect pyrite now, instead of waiting for the inevitable patch that introduces epic gems?

Because the price now is higher than it will be when that happens. We're still in the first inflationary portion of this market, and when epics come in, even assuming they are prospectable from this, I'm betting that the ore will be cheaper then than it is now.
