Erin asked:
Will we ever see tailoring profession bags? I mean, really. We can use cloth to make special bags for herbs and magic dusts, but we can't use our cloth to make a bag that holds more cloth?
That's a great question, but there's currently nothing in the game like that. It might be that a cloth bag is a little too general purpose for Blizzard's liking, but I'm not really sure. This would be a great question to ask on the general forums and see if a blue appears to answer.
Thiron asked:
Is there a way to turn off cash flow comments in the chat?
Yes. If you right click on the chat window, then select chat options, then browse around the different checkboxes, there is an option to stop gold transactions from being announced.
Amaxe asked:
When I install Cataclysm, does the purchase of the expansion include game playing time, or do I need to add more in order to be able to play?
Unless you have a subscription going, you'll need to add more in order to play. Cataclysm doesn't have any subscription time attached to it.

I like the idea for a tailoring bag. Gives some advantage to those who want to farm a bit of their own cloth. Doesn't tailoring need some love anyways?

The only issue with a tailoring bag vs. other types of profession bags is the limited amount of mats we actually use.
A leather worker might have some leather, then the heavy version, some dragon scales and spider silk, hides, whatever the new arctic fur is. Even if they only have 1 of each, they have to take up a lot of space holding them.
We don't really have that problem as much since the items that are tailored to tailoring are essentially bolts of cloth and dreamweave (or whatever it is).

Plus, it's probably a profession balance mechanic. Tailors can make their own bags. Most of the other profession bags are already made by tailors, so it's a way for an herbalist, for example, to get more bang for their buck on a bag since it's less convenient to obtain the bag.
Of course, that theory goes right out the window when you look at things like the Engineering Toolboxes, which are not made by tailors.

Simply, tailors can condense the cloth into bolts. Now that there are no more cloth turn ins, there is less of a market for stacks of raw cloths. Other than for first aid or a few skill ups for bolting your own cloth, there really is no advantage to not bolt em up. Of course there are still some specialty cloths out there and for that maybe a 32/36 slot cloth bag would be nice. I for one would love to see more than a 20 slot Gem bag. I mean all those gems. We need a bigger pouch to put or rocks in (pun intended if you are so inclined).

The difference could be that anyone could see a benefit from a large cloth bag. It may not be the norm, but if I, as a non-tailor, wanted to go farm a ton of cloth I could snag this bag and go to town. However, mining and herb bags don't really have the same benefit, as I can't farm these items. It'd be interesting to know what Blizz has to say on this.

@Noyou
Tailors can make a 24 slot gem bag, called a Bag of Jewels
http://www.wowhead.com/item=24270
Requires revered with the Consortium to get the pattern. It doesn't sell all that well on my server, ie if I have more than one up at a time, I only sell one, but it sells consistently....and for some reason, I am almost always the only one to put one up.
Personally, i find it silly that gems can't go into a mining bag, since you GET them from mining...

LW bags hold eternals . . . so should tailoring bags.
Aaron Dec 21st 2010 12:57PM
@(cutaia) and string, and bleach, and dye and enchanting mats, and volatile stuff and and and... we carry a bit more than you think and it adds up quickly. I keep tons of cloth from Netherweave, Mageweave, Wool etc. My bank alt would love a HUGE bag for tailoring stuff. =D

Aaron,
Fair enough. I suppose I'm just thinking of the basics that get collected out in the world. I usually don't keep the vendor bought items on me. I suppose a Tailoring Bag could be useful for folks who do.
Kole Dec 21st 2010 2:21PM
That or maybe tailors could have a BOP bag they can make that is large (say 30 slots) that only takes half the mats, or more along the lines of their own spellthread (or like the LW "enchants.")
tulipblossom Dec 21st 2010 2:25PM
I wouldn't mind a tailoring bag. But, the bag I'm most upset about not getting, to be honest, is any update to our gem bags, for the longest time, now. The largest current gem bag is 24 slots, I believe. I don't understand; why do we never get larger gem bags?
I understand that there are only so many new types of gems each expansion. But, what if a JC, Engi, Miner, or anyone wants to keep multiple types of gems in a bag and would enjoy a much larger one. It feels like gem bags always get the shaft, with each expansion.
Aaron Dec 21st 2010 2:25PM
Yeah, for whatever reason I only stick my "specialty" bags in my bank. It treats all those items as an "auto filter" into that bag which is kind of nice.
gamerunknown Dec 21st 2010 3:24PM
I herd you like cloth so I put cloth in your cloth so you can tailor while you tailor
Al Dec 21st 2010 3:35PM
Cloth in your cloth, while you cloth?
Lol Dec 21st 2010 4:04PM
There should be multiple proffession bags
e.g. Mining and Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking and Tailoring.
then you can keep all your mats for both profs in on ebag
BB Crisp Dec 21st 2010 4:34PM
I like the idea of a BoP bag for tailors that's a few slots bigger than current content. Limit of one equipped at any given time. Or even better, tailors create their own upgraded backpack! Nobody else would have to know. They can't even see it...
Noyou Dec 21st 2010 5:42PM
@Vanye111
Yeah I kind of forgot about that one. I was going to work on consortium rep but for 4 extra slots it's hardly worth it. Which brings back the question, we didn't get one in Wrath and none at the onset of Cata. I would be all for gems being able to go in mining bags. That would make too much sense. Kind of like eternals. Those are found while mining as well. They must have barcodes on them that tell the bags they are better than mere rocks and cannot under any circumstances be put in there with the likes of ore.
Sl0th Dec 21st 2010 6:17PM
I can see some use to a tailoring bag, but for the most part, it doesn't seem worth it.
Thinking about my tailor's bags and bank, the amount of cloth I keep stockpiles (From this expansion and previous) is relatively low. Compare that to the same character's massive stockpile of enchanting materials and I'd rather just keep the few bits and pieces of cloth the character uses in multi-purpose bags. I just don't keep enough cloth on hand at a given time to justify giving up a bank or bag slot for it were I to have the option.
Chetti Dec 21st 2010 8:06PM
I was thinking the same thing though, that most of what a tailor needs is the cloth they collect or farm. I keep all of my threads, dyes, and whatevers in the bank. I tend to do that with any of my alts that have crafting professions, like my leathers and scales, herbs and potion bottles (back when you needed 4 different types). But I guess there are people who do carry stuff around, especially herbs and potion bottles.

You know what would be nice? A "clothes" bag. Make it have like 36 slots and allow us to store all those tabards in there! Put one of these in your bank and watch some slots free up. It might also be nice to put all kinds of armor in here (cloth, leather, mail, plate). I might actually want two of these. It would be a band-aid for the issue we players have regarding storage issues around tabards.
All those in favor say aye!
