This demo is downloading way too slowly. I gotta get my necromorph stompin' fix.
Xodin asked:
Is it possible to get the Fossilized Raptor after skill level 300 in Archeology? I was under the impression from the initial blue posts that we wouldn't see repeat projects until everything was learned at least once, yet at skill level 450 I'm seeing duplicate Fossil artifacts pop up without having yet gotten the Raptor. When I check WoWWiki, it looks like the Raptor might only be available during the 225 to 300 range, but that seems somewhat silly.
The raptor becomes available in the 225-300 range, yes, but there's no cap on when you can actually make it. And to answer your tangential question, you can create duplicate projects of common items, but you'll never make two of the same rare item.
Carcus06 asked:
I know Blizzard introduced marking flares a couple months ago, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to use them. Any clues on how to use them?
The raid leader and/or raid assistants can use them via the raid leader interface, which is accessible by clicking the tab that hangs out on the left side of your screen when raid frames are active. They're called "world markers."
Tarvos asked:
With the new "War Games" option for BGs, would we be able to earn BG achievements if we're playing against our own faction? Like say if our guild split into two teams in order to work on "We Had it All Along *Cough*" or "Alterac Valley All Star" and the like - could that be done in War Games mode?
Nope. War Games give no honor, no XP, no achievements, no nothing.
Arixian asked:
While using the RDF tool last night I was put into a couple of instances that I had never run before but they had already downed the first boss. As a result the quest for that dungeon weren't available to me and they were unable to share the remaining quest. Is there a way around this or are you just out of luck until you get a fresh run? Also in another dungeon the group fell apart after one wipe leaving me with the quest for the 2nd boss, can I just pick this up again the next time I'm there?
You're out of luck for completing most introductory dungeon quests if you get Dungeon Finder'd into a half-finished dungeon, yes. But you can always run it again.

Is there any word on whether the blues will break up the transmute cooldowns for Alchemists?
I understand the reasoning behind the cooldown, but it seems obnoxious to put them all on the same one. Can we suggest breaking them up: i.e. Metal transmute, gem, and primal/eternal/volatiles? Essentially three cooldowns on the midnight reset?

I'm going to use theory here and say, maybe but not immediately. If they did, it would probably in the next patch or in a hotfix soon.

Cata gems actually have no cooldown atm, (Was using them to finish leveling my alch yesterday), but yes, separate metal and elemental cooldowns would be nice.

@shadow: Doh! How did I not notice that when I was leveling alchemy?!

Not a lick of a difference from the introduction of the cata transmutes and the inablity to transmute a gold bar after transmuting a wrath gem.
If they do, they are really late in doing so.
Personally think that anything with a cd in current expansion content should have the cd removed upon release of new expansion content.

Separate CDs would make my life easier. The Truegold CD might as well be 48 hours for me. Every other day I use the elemental CD to get Volatile Air.

I don't understand why people take offense to someone wishing them a merry Christmas. I'm Muslim, and I see no reason to take offense when someone wishes me a happy day. Seriously, it's not like they're saying "Merry Christmas you heathen." And even if they did all you have to say is "Thanks, happy holidays to you as well!"
Too much unneeded hate in the world, largely because people take things personally...
That said, happy holidays to all!

Seems that I too have been bitten by the comment system...

Merry Christmas to the Que and all its readers :)

And a happy Atheists-get-presents Day to all non-religious dudes out there!
Noselacri Dec 24th 2010 11:33AM
Festivus for the rest of us.
trogdor259 Dec 24th 2010 11:37AM
I don't understand why athiests, Jews, and other religions have to always make comments when someone wishes someone else a Merry Christmas. I mean, it IS Christmas. I wish my Jewish friends Happy Hanukkah on Hanukkah. My whatever the religion is a Happy Kwanza. This crap is seriously getting old. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Noselacri Dec 24th 2010 11:47AM
I approve of the Burninator's resolve, and also wish all atheists, agnostic, muslim, jewish, pagan and taoist gamers a merry christmas.
Noogie Dec 24th 2010 11:47AM
@trogdor259 Atheism is not a religion. It'd be pretty silly for me to wish someone a merry christmas if I didn't mean it, it's patronising. That said, you're getting uppity about a joke holiday.
trogdor259 Dec 24th 2010 11:54AM
Religion is a belief system. To say you do not believe in God is to adhere to a belief system in which a higher being doesn't exist. Atheism is a religion. You worship at the throne of Science and take the sacraments of the scientific method and materialism.
Jeff Dec 24th 2010 11:59AM
Atheism is not a religion. I don't like getting into these discussions, but seeing that suggestion brought up ad nauseum is incredibly irritating.
Atheism is not a religion because there is no "belief system." There is no worshipping. An atheist believes only in what can be proven to be true, and does not assume the existence of what cannot be proven. That's it.
trogdor259 Dec 24th 2010 12:13PM
Can you prove the scientific method? That's what science bases its truth on. You place faith in the scientific method. There is no way to prove that it is the ultimate source of truth, which is what atheism presumes. So, you place faith in a system of knowledge that can't be proven. Sounds a lot like religion to me.
Accipeter Dec 24th 2010 12:17PM
Atheism is every bit as much a religion as not collecting stamps is a hobby.
In other words, lack of belief is not a belief.
Accipeter Dec 24th 2010 12:18PM
With that said, I wish everybody here a happy, happy holiday season, whatever your belief or lack thereof!
