@ greywolfe, jbodar, and Artificial,I can take constructive criticism with the best of them and I appreciate your comments to my blacked out one which proves one thing. I have a different opinion so my comment gets downgraded. Talk about your racism right there. I have a different opinion so I am the "bad person." Second of all I love everyone. I have gay friends that arent' all about power to the people or we want to destroy American moral principles because they hinder us. Yeah, thanks guys.As for "being born" gay. Or not having a choice. Sorry. Not buying it nor has it ever been scientifically proven no matter what anyone says. When 2 whole towns are destroyed for degredative behavior, it shows me they had a choice and chose to wallow in evil which the homosexual lifestyle is whether you believe so or not. (God said it was so I kinda side with the big man on that one.) Its just the truth but I don't shout it from the rooftops like all the crazy sidewalk preachers do. Here, its different; I'm tired of being silent. It's getting to be too much. You have a choice. whether you believe it or not. Last remarks. J, I am not a close-minded individual. I'm about as open as they come. Just tired of the gay/lesbian community imposing their ideas on me and getting away with it for a select few. and Grey, I am a white american male age 37. I have been harrassed for my skin color from some friends of an ex girlfriend who was black and white family members who were opposed to my choice. So...yeah I'm sooo closed minded. Love you guys and hope you come to the realization of the truth some day. Peace.

Dude. Citing Sodom and Gamorrah as an example of how being gay is a "choice" is functionally the most moronic thing I've ever read on these boards, and these boards are chock full of stupidity. The Bible was written by people pushing their own social and religious agenda. It is not a coherent modern justification for bigotry or the denial of secular human rights to a minority population. Also: claiming possession of "gay friends" in order to immunize yourself from criticism for your idiocy makes you an even bigger idiot.Further, if you believe sexuality is a choice, when precisely did *you* choose to be a heterosexual? Here's a clue: if you believe that *only being gay* is a choice, you fail human sexuality forever.

"I have a different opinion so my comment gets downgraded. Talk about your racism right there."That word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

I respect that you love God and other people. So do I. I also know that that book you refer to was written by a bunch of powerful, straight, white men that have been dead for many hundreds of years, and so reflects their beliefs much more than God's.As for "wallowing in evil" that was those dead guys' words right there. If you want to argue against modifying laws to include certain people (which is what I assume you meant by destroying American moral principles), that's your right, but you're following the will of a bunch of old, dead Europeans in funny clothes, not God's.Incidentally, the Bible also says that slavery is cool as long as the slave is a foreigner, and that it's better to throw your virgin daughter to a horde of men to be gang-raped than to have gay sex. Assuming you're a good person, you know these are wrong. And if these are wrong, you must admit the possibility that other things in there are wrong. And after admitting *that*, you cannot use any part of it as a defense, because you have no way of knowing which parts are the wrong ones.I love God, too. The Bible, though, is just an historical artifact.

You still haven't answered the question of how a gay couple getting married affects your daily life, I see. It's getting increasingly difficult to take you seriously when all your arguments are ad hominem attacks or revolve around the divine inspiration of the Judeo-Christian Bible.

you stated:"As for "being born" gay. Or not having a choice. Sorry. Not buying it nor has it ever been scientifically proven no matter what anyone says."i'm not going to argue. science cannot prove what makes gay people, and so far, that's the only real fact. what i /will/ argue is your suggestion that someone would sit down, at the age of nine or ten and willingly pick something that would make their life completely frustrating from that point onward and then - on top of that - not go back when they see exactly how difficult it is.if it's a choice, i assume that you "picked" heterosexuality. and that it would be pretty easy for you to choose homosexuality, too. so, why haven't you tried it? is it because that entire "lifestyle" would be untenable? for example, you might have figured out that it's too difficult to get child support benefits because you're gay? or maybe you found that it was very difficult for the people at your church to accept you, because you chose to be gay?it cannot be scientifically proven, given what we know at this point in time, but i'm willing to bet money [and i'm not generally the betting sort] that most people would not "choose" to be homosexual, given the absurd level of frustration they would be dealing with for the remainder of their lives.i also want to take a mild amount of time to talk about this:"Just tired of the gay/lesbian community imposing their ideas on me and getting away with it for a select few."gay/lesbian people aren't actually imposing anything on anyone. they're suggesting that if equality is so important, then we really should be treating everyone the same. not have a tiered system where it's "ok to be a next of kin" if you're heterosexual, but not ok if you're gay.imagine for a second what that's like. your wife gets hit by a car and is in an ambulance and you finally figure all this out, only to be told that you "can't see her, because you're heterosexual."all gay people/people of colour/people of various creeds that aren't christianity would like is simple: to be treated with respect and dignity and be viewed as "equals" of the white, male, american person we keep coming back to.
