I really appreciate everyone's opinion's on this very touchy subject. And I am seriously trying to empathize with all the viewpoints. I'm not a monster. @ jdobar, I AM a hetero white male Christian. I chose long ago TO base my life on God and His Word which is this Judeo-Christian Bible you speak of. Hasn't led me wrong yet and never will. I've seen my dad live my whole life believing what's in that book and I see all the other ways are foolish and stupid. More than one time is homosexuality been called abomination which means God hates it. Someone really close to me "chose" homosexuality as a lifestyle and she knew it was not right but saw no way out of it. She is also "married" now to her partner so more power to her. Back then I told her (and she whole heartedly agreed) that there are certain demons, monkeys on your back if you will, that attached or oppress certain people in addicting ways, such as what drugs and alcohol can do. I know I already lost some of you and that's to be expected.
Anyway, they will confuse and mess with your emotions and befuddle your mind into believing you are made that way and even if your life is miserable there's no other way around it. Its the way you are made. Its a lie.
Now these parents that send their kids to gay camp to get them "made straight" are the most ignorant of all. Those poor children have to feel they have a problem and need delivered just like the drug or alcohol addicted. If they don't well, I guess that's the way it is. You can't make someone do something they don't want to do. Again, where choice comes into play.
I treat everyone with the same amount of respect and dignity regardless of who they sleep with. I get that. It's why we live in this country we live in. Being white and male has nothing to do with it. At least it doesn't to me and I don't think I've been using that as an talking point at all. And yes, all creeds are welcome to worship in this country as well.
But I have to tell folks the truth or I'm doing my brothers and sisters of this country a disservice. It's what I'm doing here. You may not like it, but it doesn't make it a lie. If you believe 2 +2 = 5 and I know it's 4, I will try to convey my view to show you 4 is the correct number. It's up to you to believe or disbelieve.
God said homosexuality is an abomination whether you're involved in it or not. If you are and you want out, get help. If not, I guess we'll find out what's right and what's not soon enough.
