The Queue: Repeat Christmas header

I don't care that we used this header last year. An orc in a Santa hat -- it's the best.
Sanctis asked:
I got an Amazon Kindle for Christmas (I will now read a "book" for the first time in 3 years). What Warcraft books do you recommend for me to start with? I haven't read any of them.
Start with The Shattering! It serves as an introduction to Cataclysm, and we gave it a pretty darn favorable review. If you've been playing Cataclysm and thinking, "Hey, why exactly is Magni Bronzebeard dead and Garrosh Hellscream the new Warchief?" then The Shattering can help fill in those blanks.
Dvyvin asked:
Is there any lore background given why Thrall is the only one holding up the world?
He actually isn't! There are powerful shaman like Muln Earthfury and Nobundo at the Maelstrom as well. They're just on different rock pillars. You seem them during a Twilight Highlands cinematic.
Tanglebones asked:
Is it okay to use a staff (I'm looking at you, Staff of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan) as a caster shaman? Do caster shamans benefit from the armor on their shields?
Mace/dagger plus shield/offhand is pretty much the way to go for elemental shaman, because staffs have a lower total item level budget than a mainhand/offhand combo. Plus, there's a +100 intellect enchant for offhands and shields now, and you can't really make that up with a staff. Lastly, the extra armor from a shield can definitely help in an emergency situation when caught in a Boooonestoooorm or something like that.
That said, using a staff is fine as a stopgap measure, especially if the staff has better total stats than the lower iLvl mainhand/offhand combo you're currently using. Just use your head.
Ca9je asked:
Is there a way to avoid the lack of choices with your characters anymore? Three talents now, you can't be a hybrid of two, and you will find that only after avoiding all PvP talents you have completed the talent tree with no where else to spend your talents in it. Rotations are therefore not changeable, as with everybody having the same talents, there will always be one that works the best. How do I gain freedom with my class?
You're looking at this from the wrong angle. There was always a "right" talent distribution, and not speccing that way was just handicapping your character. Rotations were never really changeable -- not if you wanted to be an effective player. And being a two-tree hybrid usually just meant taking advantage of a gimmick that Blizzard hadn't fixed yet.
What Blizzard has essentially done is made all of your DPS talents obvious and attainable. When you're done filling in those talents, you have points left over. This is intentional. All of the remaining talents are where you gain freedom, not lose it. Give yourself a little survivability boost. Improve your mana regen for long fights. Become more effective on add fights. It's up to you.
Stop thinking about the remaining utility talents as "PvP talents." It's an outdated view. Those points don't have anywhere else to go; you're not missing out on some important DPS talent by picking them up with leftover points. You're just making yourself more effective in a pinch.

Dear Queue
What Mojo is exactly in WC lore? Wowpedia doesnt have any articles explaining the nature of this force.
Also, has there been any response from blues on what are they gonna do for Tol Barad? Unbalanced as PvP is right now, TB is the biggest of them.
Lissanna Dec 26th 2010 4:34PM
Mojo tends to be a troll-type thing, so maybe related to their power source (Loa or otherwise?).

I'm not sure we want to know what "mojo" is.
Ametrine Dec 27th 2010 12:25AM
We already know trolls have a bizarre habit of bottling their various bodily fluids liek sweat, blood, and so on - are you SURE you wanna ask which anatomical secretion "mojo" is?
Luke Dec 27th 2010 1:29AM
[2. Trade] [Austinpowerz] WTS Mojo, yeah baby.
Murdertime Dec 27th 2010 2:41AM
It boils down to there being something very strange about Trolls there has never been really explained lorewise. Like the coming back as ghosts unless pretty serious steps are taken. And the mojo. And their pretty much consistent ability to eat gods and god like beings. And the fact that they're the only race with access to every type of magic. And why only Vol'jin has a beard.
And the fact we've never actually seen the titans.
One day, they'll be back. And they'll remind us...they told us to stay away from the Voodoo. Except Eonar. She told us to come get the voodoo. So it's all very confusing.

Do you think blizzard with put out an app so you can chat with real id friends on an android/iphone?
Thraelys Dec 26th 2010 4:23PM
It's a fancy thing called "texting."
Ebrion Dec 26th 2010 4:48PM
It would be easier to reply to my friends in a chat window than try to text and play.
Agony Dec 26th 2010 5:00PM
Or, now here's a novel idea, you could CALL them and TALK to them. Just sayin'...
Jebediah54 Dec 26th 2010 5:06PM
I think he means that one person can be on a phone, off WoW, and you can talk to them if they have an Android/iPhone if you're on WoW. I think it would be a cool idea, but idk if Blizzard would put it very high on their priority list for a while, what with Cataclysm still being new and all.
ToxDrawace Dec 26th 2010 5:27PM
I think they need to keep us logged in at the character selection screen and add a chatbox because it gets sort of annoying when people go through their 10 alts checking mail.
It's not like Starcraft 2 logs you out at lobby/menu screen, so why should WoW?
