Have we actually killed that octopus thing in Vash'jir? That's what comes to mind for me
pietrex Dec 29th 2010 8:21PM
You might want to do Throne of the Tides. :)
Hivetyrant Dec 29th 2010 10:37PM
Yup, have done a few times, but I'm not convinced that the beast is actually dead....
Imnick Dec 29th 2010 11:49PM
No he means that it quite obviously swims away at the end of the encounter, so no it's not dead.
BooCat Dec 29th 2010 8:12PM
I'm missing G4TV because I have Direct TV.
Suck to be me, :(
radda Dec 29th 2010 8:26PM
All you're are missing Cops reruns and a few shows that're just a shell of what they once were.
Avan Dec 29th 2010 8:38PM
Similarly, I'm missing G4TV because I have dozens of other channels actually offering quality entertainment.
Sehvekah Dec 29th 2010 11:50PM
Screw G4, I'm missing TechTV.
Danara Jan 1st 2011 2:07AM
no dont screw g4, g4 back in the day was tv for gamers and it was great. then it became g4 tech tv and it phased out alot of shows but it wasnt to bad, they started selling out when attack of the show started years ago and started adding things like ninja warrior in the like.

I MISS ZDTV! With the Screensavers! I loved it back then!

I'll bet that Hyjal being healed will be implemented as a new phase for when you've finished every quest in the zone. Every quest in the zone, as in, more than what you need for the achievement.
On that note, I would truly love if attunements were brought back. No Firelands raid until you've cleared Hyjal quests. No Throne of Four Winds until you've done Uldum quests. No Abyssal Maw raid until you've finished Vashj'ir. And why? Because skipping a plethora of quests and doing the raid anyways makes no sense from a lore perspective! You'll be that one adventurer in the whole group who is just tagging along to feel needed. Or worse, your raid will essentially be glorified burglars, breaking in to where you don't belong with the sole purpose of smashing things and hoping for 't3h epix.'
I'd like to think us adventurers as a whole have more class than that.
Eldoron Dec 29th 2010 8:54PM
Um yeah, sure
*roll eyes*
You know, most of WoW players are not here for RP or lore and really dont care about "lore perspective"
Bernie Roscoe Dec 29th 2010 9:08PM
@Avan
Attunement was just a hassle. Now, I suppose if its just solitary quests that don't require groups than attunement works, but before it required getting groups together. And if you were a late comer to the content than it was nearly impossible to get attuned.
@Eldoron
Many people enjoy lore. Wowinsider's only biweekly column centers on it.
Ice Dec 29th 2010 9:26PM
Do all the quests in zone? Reaaaally? Attuments would make sense if they would gear you up or prepare for the raid like tutorial sense. Kinda like "Use this switch to active things on this boss, use this on other boss and jump on this ability on this boss. When you get to raid you will be faced with everything at once!" (which would be damn cool way to prep people up)
But quests?
"Ok guys we really need one good dps. Just one for this raid, not hard to find"
Half an hour goes pass
"Finally someone can come!!"
"Oh wait.. they havent done 150 quests in vashjir because he did hyjal so they cant come. Maybe next week guys? Sorry we miss out on this weeks progress"
This is also why attuments were BS. You got well geared, well prepared raiders you KNOW and TRUST to perform extremely well, heck they would be better than some of others but you couldnt invite them because they just didnt happen to have done Tempest keep and/or Lady vashj on that character and you just dont have time to attument them just that day.
Avan Dec 29th 2010 9:37PM
@Bernie Roscoe:
I take it you haven't quested through the new zones yet? There aren't very many group quests in Vashj'ir, Hyjal, or Uldum. In fact, I think the only group quests that were added in Cataclysm are for the Crucible of Carnage.
@Ice:
I've been in small guilds since classic, and attunements have never posed a problem for those raids. Want to know what our secret was? No PUGs.
Besides, finishing out Hyjal or Uldum doesn't take very long to do. Takes even less time at 85! (Vashj'ir, due to it's horrible underwater nightmarish travel, may require more than 3 hours of questing to complete.)
epsilon343 Dec 29th 2010 9:48PM
@Eldoron
You'd be surprised how much lore the hardcore raiders I was with knew. During downtime they'd run little trivia games about lore that was outside of just WoW. We'd even discuss some of the lore regarding the fights; not because we required it but people were always curious about why we were doing what we were doing.
Camaris Dec 30th 2010 5:02AM
The problem with attunements is alts. They should really make them account-wide. Or at least provide some kind of buyable BoA token to attune alts.
Mersa Jan 5th 2011 11:55AM
Attunement was a pretty good idea, because it made sure people were ready, that A they were geared well enough and B that they could work in a group.
