I heard horror stories of Gonna Go When the Volcano Blows. You'd pug a few badly needed dps spots only to have them strip and die. If the raid leader was worth his salt he'd kick them before they got anything.

I heard that standing in a 10 yard hole between 2 slow moving fire walls was hard.

Lava Strike is an AoE that Sarth casts that is at times very hard to see, and is trivially damaging, so few players are actually aware of its existence.

In order to get the achievement you had to avoid lava strikes thrown from the fire tornadoes, at random, anywhere in the room, during the entire fight.

It had nothing to do with avoiding the lava walls.

Funnily enough, a friend I knew on my old server made a Sarth pug with me and did this same method because it was the last achievement he needed for Glory of the Raider 10, and the fact it was the tuesday (European) before they removed the drakes.
