We've featured The Interrogation before, but this is a great season to go back and look at some old favorites -- especially since the ghostly soundtrack to Gnomechewer's video is especially appropriate to this time of year.
I was recently reminded about this video by reader Jacob. It was a pleasant reminder, of course, considering this video has always been one of my favorites. Gnomechewer's eye for creating engaging scenes and haunting narratives is amazing. Remember that this video was created back in 2008. It's nearly three years old but is just as striking now as it was then. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! WTF??? Some interpretation of this would be nice. All I know is the hair was standing up on my arms and the back of my neck through the whole thing. And I couldn't look away. I also didn't quite understand what the f*** was goin on. Creepy as hell. Can't really say anything bad about it. But creepy.
From what this humble observer gathered from it, and as with all forms of literature is up to our own interpretation.
Scarlet Interrogator Vishas was doing his thing for the Scarlet Crusade, and then, when he gets home he realizes that his wife was killed by some adventurers hired by one of the only freed victims of his interrogations.
He returns to the Scarlet Monastery when those same adventures come plowing through, and he is killed accordingly, as with his wife, he is now a corpse, and has no choice but to leave the Crusade forever, because he is no longer human, and among the chosen.
uh, forsaken spy is captured and he is reliving his life in the ensuing madness brought on by the torture by the Scarlets. The thing to remember is in his own psyche he remembers himself not only as alive, but dead so there is the dual imagery there.
In Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard, there is a Forsaken on the rack being tortured by Interrogator Vishas. That is Vorrel Sengutz. For Horde, he gives a quest to retrieve his wedding ring and give it to his wife who is a Forsaken in Tarren Mill (or was? Haven't checked to see if it's still there in Cata) as his dieing wish. Interrogator Vishas had given the ring to his own wife Nancy (shout out to Sid and Nancy Vicious).
But yeah, creepy as hell. A good man, turned undead, then tortured to death in SM:G.
The imagery is perfect. You take a religious fanatic known for his ability to torture and every so often you lift the veil to reveal what he really is underneath.
Fanaticism is often times an even greater monster than whatever it opposes.

Absolutely gorgeous. It is so fantastic and I love that you don't need to know the story to feel mood.
