The Queue: For the troubled tooth, for the troubled tooth

Isn't that what they were saying in that Jet Set Radio song? That's what it sounded like. My tooth hurts!
Glasscannon asked:
Why does Blizzard seem so desperate to discourage us from 2v2 arena these days? Am I right in saying the highest arena gear can only be got from 3v3 and 5v5?
You're right: Blizzard is discouraging you from 2v2 arena. The developers directly stated that they wish they hadn't introduced that bracket due to the incredible difficulty in balancing encounters between teams of two. You also have the 2v2 arena bracket to thank for some of the most ridiculous nerfs to PvE gameplay in WoW's history.
Andrew asked:
What address should we add to our contact list so if we were to win a prize the e-mail doesn't go straight to the spam folder?
This depends on the contest, though most contest contacts are done through an @wow.com or @wowinsider.com address.
Covnam asked:
Two quick dungeon questions. In general, is there a difference in difficulty with the various dungeons on heroic? Is heroic Tol'Vir harder than heroic Stonecore? Or are they about the same overall? And which, if any, dungeons on normal give rep while wearing tabards?
Well, the idea is that all heroics are supposed to be around the same difficulty level, though it definitely doesn't quite work like that. There are some easier heroics (Lost City, Vortex Pinnacle) and some harder ones (Grim Batol). Any heroic is manageable with a good group, though. Your mileage may vary.
Any dungeon in the level 85 bracket will give rep with tabards, so Lost City, Halls of Origination, and Grim Batol.

Just checked my spam and junk boxes - nothing there, so no UK loot for me (yet!)
Glad you reminded me to check though!

Aren't all the contests just for the USA though, European citizens aren't allowed to enter?
quelaenvyn Dec 31st 2010 11:16AM
For most contest, but there have been one or two of the 12 days that have been for everywhere. Just have to read the rules.
Obono Dec 31st 2010 11:20AM
Only the loot codes ones could be entered by readers outside the US. The rest were for US only.
Baba Dec 31st 2010 11:23AM
:'(
How presumptive of me, haven't been entering any of them lol
Ronin Dec 31st 2010 12:09PM
It's a bit early to be checking for you "You Won!" email anyway. The contests aren't even over yet.
icepyro Dec 31st 2010 12:34PM
Actually most of the contests are over in the sense you can't enter anymore. Now the real question is if they've been contacting winners as they go or will there be one batch email at the end. I'm hoping for the batch email because I like to delude myself into thinking I still have a chance at winning.

"Aren't all the contests just for the USA though, European citizens aren't allowed to enter?"
I realise Canada isn't far far away, but they are allowed to participate too. And Canada isn't part of USA.

Has there been a recent change to how shadow priest procs work. 2days ago I couldn't get my shadow orbs to proc to save my life but yesterday I would buff after a wipe and proc all 3....everytime. also I thought the replenishment proc was only supposed to proc off of MB it was procing after every spell I cast??
Necromann Dec 31st 2010 11:29AM
I used to not proc any at all also, they proc more often now, but not what yours are.
Understud Dec 31st 2010 2:44PM
Yea I was running thru H vp last night and when running by the brisge with orbs that u hafta hit. I would proc 3 of em there too. And this is with no changes except a lil more spirit
Kar Jan 1st 2011 1:15PM
Regarding replenishment, are you sure it was yours and not someone else's? Frost mages, destro warlocks, resto druids and ret paladins can all proc replenishment effects too.

I... am saddened by the fact that I have NO IDEA what you guys are talking about, but I frickin LOVED the JSR franchise. I'm sad they haven't come out with a third game yet, though a manga series that I like is kind of the spiritual successor, Air Gear. So, I get by on that...

For me, this new expansion feels more like a new patch than a Whole New Game.
Anyone else feel that way?
(this is from the perspective of playing an 80, not starting from level 1)
cyanea85 Dec 31st 2010 11:31AM
I was just discussing that with some guildies last night. It really doesn't feel like it has the same amount of "stuff" to do at 85 than Wrath.
Granted, that's partly because much of Cata was focused on the non-endgame and because I really felt Northrend contained some of the best zones, lore, and environments that Blizz has made to date. I also probably am looking back with a little bit of nostalgia.
But it does feel like I'm at the "sit around in Dal/Org waiting for queues to pop or guildies to log on" state way too early compared to Wrath.
