In a way it's really kind of heart wrenching. Still I am curious to see where Blizz goes with this. I was very moved by the whole storyline of Tirisfal Glades and as after the final quest here means it is time for Silverpine, I just couldn't stop myself from being more moved as a player than ever before.
As for the reference to Liliana Vess (MTG), I can see it completely and that makes the future even scarier. Liliana is one of those that sold their soul to the devil for immortality and power so to speak. I didn't even see the connection until it was mentioned, but now that I do and considering the card, I actually wish there were more remnants of the Crusade just to see what she does when she realizes her true potential.
Speaking of, I always viewed her abilities as somewhere between a shadow priest (appropriate given the lore of the Forsaken and spriests and her background) and a rogue (I so want that strangle flame throw animation as a killing blow as a rogue even without flames). If there was a necromancer class that was allowed not to dress funny, Lilian would be it.
