Tol Barad hotfixed to reward 360 honor on offensive win

However, Blizzard has just changed the amount of honor gained when the attacking side wins Tol Barad to 360 honor, down from 1,800. Let your servers know that the win-trading can stop.
Zarhym -- Tol Barad Honor ChangeAs you're probably aware by now, an update was applied to Tol Barad shortly before the holidays which granted the attacking side 1800 Honor Points for a victory. While the goal with that change was to provide more incentive for the attacking forces to claim victory, it ultimately led to an undermining of the spirit of competition in Tol Barad. We've just applied a hotfix which has lowered the attacking faction's gain to 360 Honor Points for a victory. The defending faction will still earn 180 Honor Points for a victory.
We appreciate all of your feedback regarding this change. We'll continue working to make Tol Barad a fun and engaging PvP environment.

In addition, Blizzard is currently working on a fix for what many termed the "Tol Barad Bridge Marathon," where players would run across the Tol Barad northern bridge to enter the zone as the battle was ending to reap the benefits of the victory, even if they were not called to participate in Tol Barad.

IMO, it was a horrible idea to keep a whopping 6 dailies locked to who owns Tol Barad. They don't even have anything to do with actual PvP action, unlike the old WIntergrasp dailies (which became weeklies).
I hope the win trading continues. It gives everyone a chance at Argaloth even if your faction sucks at PvP on your server and it gives you time to do the dailies.
It's like "You don't like PvP and your faction never has TB? Well tough luck to you! It's going to take you twice as long to get the weapons or trinkets."
At least Wintergrasp had PvP weapons and items for the tokens, not PvE items.

u get 6 dailys in TB, but if tb changes, loose then win, u have a chance to get 3 others fromt he left guy. up to 12 dailys a day can be done inside tb, outside 5or6. so total 18 dailys a day can be done.
so switching tb to horde ally and back again, is handy to both sides to get the other dailys.

I realize that, but for a full rotation to happen between Horde and Alliance and all 3 random questgivers, you need around 15 hours. I like to assume that the average player will do the dailies only once a day and doesn't have time to sit around, waiting for the Tol Barad switch.

a better fix for the bridge exploit would be to FIX THE DAMN REASON SO MANY PEOPLE NEED TO USE THE EXPLOIT!!!
at it's very worst, tenacity was better than the even sides, instanced crap

I'll entirely agree with that. Without the 1800 honor, now there's pretty much no reason to even try to queue anymore due to the--seemingly--low odds of getting in. With an 1800 honor carrot hanging out there, it made sense to queue every chance (or at least every attacking phase) even if you didn't get in.
Now it's just..."meh". Why even bother, if you're not going to get in anyway?

Ill miss the comments while waiting at the bridge. Classic stuff..

How about a way OUT of Tol Barad if we get stuck there for the fifteen minutes pre-battle when all the quest enemies despawn?
Nijel Jan 3rd 2011 7:23PM
There is a portal back to your capital right next to the raid entrance.
Sonalita Jan 4th 2011 6:26AM
Fail. There's always a portal back right next to where you portal in for the normal dailies you do no matter who has control.
Ilmyrn Jan 4th 2011 11:01AM
Let me rephrase. Why isn't there a way OUT of Tol Barad Peninsula, the PVP area, back to the non-PVP part for those of us who would like to get the other TB dailies done while we wait for the battle to start?
Zhabroah Jan 3rd 2011 5:42PM
Instead of trying to fix the "Tol Barad Bridge Marathon" exploit, why don't you actually try and fix what is wrong with the whole zone imbalance of attack v defending?
MrJackSauce Jan 3rd 2011 5:43PM
Fixes nothing. Double honor every 2 TBs is still better than defending. Most poeople would rather sit there and gain honor in
Chuck Jan 3rd 2011 5:45PM
So happy at this. Thank you. I understand where the decision originally came from but clearly was bad. The BG needs some balance work still. I want a good fight again not 1800 honor if you were lucky enough to get called in.
Keeperson Jan 3rd 2011 6:01PM
thats why there was the exploit to get the honor even if u couldnt get in.
sigh
Keeperson Jan 3rd 2011 5:47PM
got exalted. got the boss done for achiev. Full pvp gear and all the pvp offgear.
got enough markrs for the pet and mount + the dragon is almost done.
im happy anyway. now the horde can have it 4ever again cause of there 6-1 ratio and no ally wanting to go there.
PvtDeth Jan 3rd 2011 5:50PM
My server never really got to win trade even with the ridiculous honor. Alliance would show up for defense and sit on top of BH. Horde would go all out on D every single time.
carebear Jan 3rd 2011 5:49PM
just another sign this game has jumped the shark
Tarbh Jan 3rd 2011 6:07PM
Making those comments jumped the shark about 4 years ago. :P
The kind of comment I made jumped about 6 months later.
jfofla Jan 3rd 2011 5:52PM
Interestingly my servers minority Horde Population became battle hardened by Wintergrasp, so much so, that the Allies can't beat us in a balanced fight at TB. The only way they got it was win swapping.
wutsconflag Jan 3rd 2011 6:13PM
There is nothing balanced about Tol Barad.
