@Ice: the price of a finished good is based on the cost of raw materials plus the cost of labour. In WoW, there is no actual labour involved in crafting an item, and additionally, crafters WANT to perform the work to get skillups; hence, the cost of labour is negative, and the price of the finished good is less than the cost of the raw materials.
