Blacksmithing is an awesome way to make gold but I would not suggest it to start off with.

The best professions for quick gold and minimal effort are mining and herbalism but they are a little boring.

As you progress you should start giving Engineering a go and of course Blacksmithing - of course if that is not for you then you can try farming Volitiles that works pretty well.
