Breakfast Topic: What's your proudest WoW moment?

World of Wacraft has a lot of major milestones, many of which are punctuated by achievements, cool titles or flashy mounts. When I first started thinking of this subject, I assumed reaching level 80 would be my proudest WoW moment, considering it was the first time I reached max level. I started playing WoW during The Burning Crusade and leveled very slowly, spending way too much time in PvP, which didn't reward experience at the time. I took a couple of breaks and didn't hit max level until the early months of Wrath of the Lich King. But in retrospect, I recalled my thought when I reached 80: "Okay, now the real game begins." My next thought was that the moments that my guild first cleared Naxx-25 or Yogg Saron or the Lich King might be the pinnacle of pride for me in WoW.
Then I realized the truth. The moment when I probably felt the best about my WoW self was when I finally matched (and eventually beat) the gear of my best friend who plays and could beat him in duels. I'd watched this rogue friend, from BC to Wrath, stealth around and slay countless foes in battlegrounds, arena, and world PvP. I'd seen him win 2 of 3 duels against the very best-geared rogue on our server, and I could beat him. That was awesome. Plus, a bit of friend vs. friend gloating didn't hurt the ego.
Has there been a point where you thought to yourself, "I have arrived ... at awesomeness"? What achievement or event is your proudest WoW moment?

Getting Loremaster during Wrath.

Ditto that :)

Same here. Loremaster early in Wrath (yes, before EveryQuest's increased functionality). "Back in MY day..." :-D

Same here. The Loremaster title, and getting "The Seeker" before it.

Waste of Life doing quests 70 levels under you?

Loremaster during Wrath for me. Or at least it's a tie with Salty. I have a heck of a time deciding which title to display.

This.

Getting Loremaster before the Kalimdor nerf for Alliance (back when you still needed 730 quests in Kalimdor) is definitely in my top 5, but I'm torn between that and a few others:
* Completing the Scepter of the Shifting Sands chain
* Completing Mountain of Mounts in Wrath
* Earning "The Exalted" title
* Getting "Chef de Cuisine" before recipes like Dig Rat Stew became available on the Alliance side via quests
* Getting Quel'Serrar while in a guild that didn't raid, from a Foror's that dropped on a DM run (not purchased).

Oh! The other one to add to the list is definitely completing the Tier 0.5 chain back in vanilla, in a guild that didn't run anything past UBRS.

Winning the STV fishing derby back to back weeks would be my top, while claiming Time-Lost Proto-Drake would be a close second (I spent 3 weeks camping that thing ...). Also winning the STV fishing derby on my level 40 priest was pretty cool.

I always feel proudest when I help teach someone tips or tricks for their class or a dungeon we are in. When I offer advice, and someone thanks me for it.

I've been helping a new guy in our guild to learn about the game, 'cause the person that invited him with RAF only wanted the free month and mount and didn't tell him anything. So me and my girlfriend have been teaching him about everything. I gave him 250g to get his flying mount too and he has been playing for a month or so? and he is growing to be an awesome player. He learned about professions at level 60 and went running to level mining and blacksmith, he is now reading guides abour everything, looking at specs and learning about everything. I feel really proud when I look at him, 'cause he a really nice guy who wants to learn and become good. He told me the other day he was really thankful for our help all the time and he said he would buy me a month of game time just for my kindness. I felt great, realizing just how much he thanks us for helping him. It's great to help new people get into the game :D

ToGC. Anub.
Finally found a compatible raid group. Went in to ToGC for the first real time. Got him down in two weeks, forth day in. Super stoked.
I need a better one ^_^

Nice call.
Mine would have to be either downing 4H back in 60 Naxx or beating Kil'Jaeden before the Wrath patch.

Very nice - I never did get into one of those, unfortunately
My proudest moment would have to be from Naxxramas(80) with my hunter. Back before Ulduar, we did a 10-man Naxx run with some friends. We got to Gluth, and were having some trouble. I was nervous, and messed up kiting the adds a few times. On one attempt, our off-tank died - the mortal wound debuff started stacking up on our main tank, with no way to get it off. I'm not quite sure how I can describe it, but I went into "the zone". Back then, Distracting Shot was a taunt that worked on bosses, and taunts had no diminishing returns. I used Distracting Shot to pull the boss towards me at a distance where it would take long enough for him to get back to the main tank for the debuff to drop, but he wouldn't quite reach me. The tank didn't understand what I was trying to do at first, but eventually we got into a rotation of taunts. I managed to keep up this juggling act while kiting the adds, and when the boss dropped, I felt *pro*.

I can't decide, I have two to be honest. First was when I did the Dreadsteed quests after spamming trade for three days looking for a group that would do Dire Maul. It didn't really become my proudest moment until a few days later when they released the patch that would lower the cost of riding from 700g to a mere 100g.
My second proudest moment was when a few guildies and friends decided to 8 man Onyxia (60 player) and not only did I win the head but I also won the 18 slot bag which I still use in my bank (I also have the 22 slot one when they re-released it as an 80 raid)

I'll never forget my Dreadsteed quest. Back when the level cap was 70 I tried for weeks to find a group. Asked in guild, trade chat and posted on forums. Nothing. Then finally one day I assembled a group of myself and 4 other warlocks who needed the mount also. The 5 of us tore through Dire Maul. No tanks. No Healers. Just 5 awesome warlocks ripping through DM. It was amazing (at the time).
kingerz Jan 6th 2011 10:40AM
Yeah D/Steed quest was so fulfilling. Sadly now now it's been dumbed down to EzyMode and all you do is click on a vendor.
"WoW is not getting easier!! It's better!!"
Right...
Downrate if you've played for 1 year ^

I don't think it's a bad thing that they made it easy, because it's something those of us can look back on with our feat of strength and still feel proud about. I remember the days of begging people to help me through scholomance and dire maul, and when I finally had that mount I was soooo happy. But, I can also recognize what an enormous effort and amount of time it took for a mount that is now practically worthless in a world where we can fly over everything. Enjoy the memory.

That would have to be learning how to properly CC on my hunter without any outside help (seriously, this was back before I knew sites like BRK existed), and the first time I got praised for it. It's the smallest victories that have the biggest impact.
