The Daily Quest: Healerific

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Healers play a game of covering the mistakes of others. Tank didn't get to his panic button in time? DPSers not controlling their aggro? Cat jumped on the keyboard? Your friendly neighborhood healer is there to smooth over those hiccups and keep things running smoothly. In today's collection of links, the first one is for everyone and should be committed to memory should you want to live through most encounters. The rest are aimed at specific healing classes to help them up their game. Enjoy -- and don't forget to thank your healer.
- Tree Heals Go Whoosh covers the new AoE healing spells available to healers in a visual guide to things your healer wants you to stand in.
- Tales of a Priest lays out examples of when to use Leap of Faith.
- Falling Leaves and Twigs exports their Power Aura settings for druid resto (and balance) spells.
- Blessing of Kings blesses us with a list of tips for holy paladins in heroics.
- TotemForest explains the math and glyphing of the shaman mana regeneration spell Water Shield

I am truly thankful for the amount of Druid healer blogs out there, especially Restokin. This is my first time trying healing on a Druid, so the amount of information out there is quite excellent.
I have a new blog post at Corath's Blog, all about the balance between gaming and real life stuff: http://corath.wordpress.com/2011/01/07/life-getting-in-the-way/
Enjoy!

"Your friendly neighborhood healer is there to smooth over those hiccups and keep things running smoothly."
And to smoothify things with, uh, smoothness! ;)

"Healers play a game of covering the mistakes of others." Yeah, that's all they do, right? They make up for others' mistakes. If it weren't for mistakes, they wouldn't be needed, amirite? There isn't an actual game-mechanic that requires Healers to heal even during a perfect run?
Healers play a vital role in group encounters-- as do the Tank and the DPS'ers. Sometimes everyone makes mistakes-- healers included. Do we really need to add to the current climate of acrimony and recrimination between the various roles?

Btw, that's a great article on Tree Heals Go Woosh. Nice visual guide!

Ronin,
I suspect that the writer was just making a little joke. Relax. Nobody thinks that healers are perfect and it's everybody else making all the mistakes.

I'll fess up-- when I wrote that, I'd just woken from a nap and was really groggy and cranky. I should learn not to post in that state of mind. Still, while I get it may have been the author trying to be cute, I'm not sure it's the best way to get non-healers to read an article that's aimed (in part) at them.
