WRUP: Really, guys?

When I send the WRUP email out to the staff each week, I like to present the team with a bonus question in addition to simply asking them what they're doing. Sparking that extra bit of conversation is fun, but sometimes it's hard to come up with a quick question. This week I skipped the bonus topic, merely asking the staff to be extra verbose to make up for it. Instead, they decided to shout random food names. So ... have fun with that in the comments.
Apricots!
Alex Ziebart (AlexZiebart): Finally restarted raiding this week, so this weekend will have a few hours of tackling the Conclave of Wind mixed in with my usual questing and milking everybody of their gold on the auction house via enchanting materials and glyphs. I also picked up Oblivion during the Steam sale and have been playing that a bit. I played both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas and was impressed by their potential but found the actual games to be pretty bad. I'm enjoying Oblivion a lot though, which is odd considering it's Fallout in Fantasyland. I find it far more compelling than anything in the two Fallout games I've played. Eh.
Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): Raiding! The guild has started 25s in earnest now. As someone who spent vanilla raiding Blackwing Lair among others, Blackwing Descent is fascinating. I love how the trash drakes are nods to the original BWL drake trio. I can't wait to go to the Throne of the Four Winds -- not because I'm looking forward to the fights, but because that zone and Vortex Pinnacle are about the most breathtaking things I've seen in this game to date.
C. Christian Moore (@TheArenaGuy): The warlock is as geared up as he can get. I have 3,600 resilience. Just need to get my personal rating up. I've been running Rogue-Warlock-Shaman (RLS) at about 2,200 MMR. It's not my favorite composition in the world, but it'll do for now. I want to try out three DPS, I absolutely love that 3-DPS comps are doing well right now. I'll also probably be forming a solid 5v5 and doing some more rated BGs.
Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): I am heading home to visit my family, so this means I will do probably little to no computer gaming for this weekend and the coming week. I hope they appreciate that I am missing out on guild rep and valor points for them!
Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): Hopefully, I'll be getting my druid and shammy up to 60.
Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): Preparing for Monday's raid and doing some guild achievements. Going to be recruiting healers for the guild soon. Hit 85 and started doing heroics on my hunter, so there should be some fun there. As far as being verbose, this is how I opened my raid on Wednesday.
"On this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace soubriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. In view humble, long-time lampoonery, cast lovingly as both laughingstock and lowlife by the lots of fate. This look, no mere layer of loftiness, is a lees of the 'Laetificus Letificus' now left in the lurch, lost. However, this lionhearted laboro of a bygone lifetime stands livened, and has locked on to lick these lying and loathsome losers, leading lust and lulling the licentious and lecherous lawlessness of liberty.
The only law is loving ire; a lusting-spite, held as a lex legis not in leviculus, for the laurels and lentus of such shall one day liberate the leery and the legit.
Literally this litter of loquacity leans most luxuriant, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to lead your raid tonight and you may call me Lodur."
Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Finishing up Twilight Highlands and its buggy, buggy questlines. Hopefully heading to Uldum, and maybe if I'm super-lucky I can hop on some guild heroics. Other than that? Still getting used to being an unemployed shmo, and tackling all the paperwork that comes with it.
Lisa Poisso (@emused): Enjoying BC instances with my worgen. Answer to bonus question: Bacon.
Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Raiding on Sunday, and to be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing the rest of the weekend. It's one of those blah weekends. Trying to catch up on writing too, which is always a pain.
Matt Low (@matticus): Going to pound out that flask achievement by Saturday. After that, it's time to finish the alt leveling process. I hit 85 on my shaman, and the time has come to bring up the paladin and the druid as well. We drew straws in the guild. I lost. It means I get the honor of powering the night elf mage so we can get that Stay Classy achievement. Bonus: fried chicken.
Sarah Nichol (@mentalshaman): I shall be playing Dragon Age: Origins (dwarf noble rogue) and grinding herbs and materials for cards and crafted epics! Other than that, our move is over so I'll be unpacking and exploring the local area. Bonus question: PIE!
Zach Yonzon (@battlemasters): With any luck, i'll probably actually be able to log in some game time this weekend after more than a week-long hiatus from Azeroth. At most, though, I'll probably only get to finish off leveling my paladin to 85 (three bars into 84) before hitting the salt mines again. Considering how hellish the past few weeks have been, I'll consider that an accomplishment.

Tribute to V for Vendetta FTW?

There's a guild on my server called Wandering Worgen or something that does this, except with the letter W. Even the guild crier's name will start with a W--I remember Worlock and Wuffles of the top of my head.
It's pretty epic, and I LOL every time I see it.

I have been chopping and changing between my Pally and Priest.
The Priest is farming heroics but I can not get her to function the way I want to with heals so I am feeling like an utter failure right now.
It is actually making me quiet depressed I look at her when choosing who to play and just go straight to the Pally.
My Pally though I about half a level from 85, she is doing well, clearing instances and I have managed to accumulate enough gear and rep that I should be able to do heroics at 85 (may be short 1 or 2 points)
But that is what I have been doing.
Kinda feeling awful but enjoying my Pally.
Sorry guild but your main raid healer is not in the mood...

I have no respect left for Alex Ziebart.
No, seriously though, much love--but the Fallout games are made entirely of epic and win.

I want to love them, I really do, but the constant crashing over and over, having to save every 5 minutes because you never know when the game will crash next, then going to the internet and seeing every sort of "fix" imaginable and having none of them working, so going to their tech support and them going "Who knows?" really kinda hurts my love of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
They could have been excellent games, but they were unplayable for me. :(
Edboy Jan 8th 2011 10:55PM
Same here, only Fallout 3 and Vegas aren't really fallout games compared to 1 and 2. On top of that, Oblivion came out first. My point is that Fallout 3 is just Oblivion with guns.
Alex Ziebart Jan 8th 2011 11:06PM
I love the *potential* of the Fallout games, which is why I keep going back and trying to play them again. They're just extremely buggy and touch on all of my gaming pet peeves. I still recommend the games to others -- the games frustrate me because they fall short of my expectations, but people without my specific hangups will most likely love it.

My favorite Fallout game is... Wasteland.

My friend was the project manager for Fallout: New Vegas. He's too busy playing WoW now.
And he reads this site. Sorry, dude.

I am currently housesitting, and come to you from an ancient and very grubby Dell desktop, so no WoW for me for the next two weeks (unless I pop back home to water plants and collect various things I forgot). I'm surviving by hitting refresh constantly on WoW Insider!
As for the bonus question, anything with eggs! There are three chickens and they lay more eggs than I can eat.
jfofla Jan 8th 2011 10:58PM
It is so odd to me that this early in Cata people would be buying and playing other games.
Szass Jan 8th 2011 11:38PM
I play PS3 games all the time while I'm playing wow.
When I'm just screwing around in wow, or waiting for the raid to fill up , or waiting for a healer to log on.
When my hands leave the keyboard and mouse, they are usually reaching for the PS3 controller.
Well, that or the laptop, where I also have wow going, but that is another story.
Rai Jan 8th 2011 11:58PM
I pump myself up with Super Meat Boy on the 360, which makes heroics easier by comparison.
Dee Jan 9th 2011 12:02AM
@ Alex It's actually more like Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns. Since Oblivion/Morrowwind came first (from Bethesda I know there were previous fallouts).

Watching NFL football. Playing WoW in between. Can you guys do me a favor. Get a new pic of pizza. Something deep dish maybe. Maybe have a breakfast topic- what do you like to eat while downloading a patch and have people send in pics of their favorite foods. Thanks!

Some old BC raids with the guild, and then back to RIFT beta.
Jason Ralph Jan 9th 2011 2:14AM
Earlier this week. Wait. Scratch that. Since the DC Universe Online Beta has been available that's all I've played (except to loot the Christmas presents in WoW). I enjoyed it a lot and I plan to alternate between playing that and WoW once it releases Tuesday. I don't think DCUO will make me "quit" WoW as I'm way too invested into the characters (I can careless about my own toon or Alliance or Horde; has been and always will be about the story). I hope it does well for the simple fact I love comics (speaking of which where's the next Worgen comic book at?).

Bit of crafting. Leveling a pair of priests. And lots of family time today, which should earn me lots of gaming time tomorrow.
