WoW Moviewatch: Play Your Class
Work warning: There's a touch of naughty language in this video. Click here to see it!
The lyrics and video for Play Your Class were created by Tyrannothefirst while the singing was performed by SilverLetomi. The video is a lot of fun. It has a playful tone to it that feels like it's really celebrating good times in the game. The vocals were largely pretty good, though there were a few places that I'm not sure if the tone was an accident or intended to be satirical.
Overall, Play Your Class was an enjoyable experience. I'm not quite sure it's something I'll be replaying around the house, but it was a good ride while it lasted.

Pretty bad sing and very repetitive. Other than that least ya tried ;P

agreed, I'm no singer myself (unless it's in the car/shower to some Tom Petty) but this was pretty tough to listen to. It's a rather crappy song to start with too.
It's better than I could do, but that doesn't mean it's good.

It was very amateur-ish but being that it was a great effort, the message was positive and not another corny "im a cool-wow gamer" music video

Indeed, singing could use some work but still, kudos for not letting that stop ya ;)

I liked the singing.
It was nice to hear a machinima that wasn't warped by AutoTune or some rap.

its obvious the singer has never had voice lessons as she made many an amateur mistake, but nonetheless that was fucking awesome for an amateur.

Really liked this one :)

Very cute. The singing was a bit iffy in some spots but there's a lot of potential there! Fun little vid :)

I..I love this. I feel bad. The singing isn't the best. But I love the song to begin with (Pink's version.) The song itself is fun, so that helps a lot.

Sorry, but this singer makes Ke$ha sound like Aretha Franklin. Owww my ears.

Bah, a Draenei Rogue would be enough to make me faction change my main, it really would. Draenei Druid would be almost as good.

I wasn't a huge fan of the singing, but I recognize and respect a well-done and well-written parody when I see one. Well done!

Is it normal for my ears to be bleeding after hearing this?

It was a good effort, the lyrics could have been improved. I found myself guessing what was going to be next and came up with a few improvements.
The singing lets it down abit, probably because the song is so fast.

Good if first attempt, but lyrics really suqd, voice was ok.

It was cute, and definitely good for a beginner one. Just while listening I kept on thinking "...this sounds like someone singing karaoke". Her voice isn't horrible, just she can't hit the notes in spots (Basically, I have heard worse, but I would definitely suggest a better sound system). And as someone who cranks up and sings out loud with this song at every chance, I think it lost some of the attitude.
I mean, heck. The whole Pink song is a 'In your face!' kinda song, with a wacky sense of humor. Just look at the original video! I wanted to see more of that attitude, especially since the way the lyrics are cut and the way the beat goes all lends itself to this attitude.
Basically, it felt like she was trying to take a song, that down to every beat, is designed to be sharp and in-your-face, and make it into a 'hakuna-matata' type song. It just didn't feel like it worked for me.
However, I am being much to serious, so I am going to break into the icebox in the middle of the day and see if my dogs want to dance with me. What's the dealio, yo?
...You know, since Pink is hot right now, maybe I should try to pimp out my rage-induced typed WoW parody of 'U & Ur Hand' to some video maker.
Kellerune Jan 11th 2011 1:35PM
Yeah... I listened to the original after hearing this, and I just don't like the original song. So, that may hinder the parody, but I feel like the number of "OMG I'm a girl wow gamer" songs are getting kinda old.
MechaKingGhidra Jan 11th 2011 3:26PM
Well, that's fine and dandy but this song isn't about girl-gaming. It's about the message of going out and actually playing the dang game while giving a few examples regarding the classes.
Just because there is a female singing in it does not automatically make it about girl-gaming.
roseclown Jan 11th 2011 3:30PM
...Erm, Raise Your Glass and Play Your Class aren't really 'girl power' songs. They are people power songs. Sure, in this parody they had all girl toons, but it's not like the lyrics are girl centric. At all. 6_o (raising a eyebrow emote. I'm bringing it into style.)
Anywho, and considering... um... have I ever seen a 'I'm a girl gamer' song on WoWmoviewatch? The fact that I can't remember one should mean something....
