The Classifieds: Oxhorn runs a contest
This is also an interesting chance to try out Oxhorn's toolbar. The browser toolbar interacts with Oxhorn's content as well as allowing you one-click access to most social networks. It's an interesting idea, so I'm really curious to see how it turns out.
Random Acts of Uberness
It's when another player lights up your night with precise play, a wicked sense of humor or unexpected generosity that your login becomes something to remember. Share your Random Acts of Uberness with theclassifieds@wow.com. Keep things brief (150 words or less, please), and be sure to list everyone's character names and home realms or battlegroup.
Keepers of the Keg of Stormscale (US-H) I'd like to give a shout out to Intangible, Kasyndra, Gotblooms, and Pürps from Keepers of the Keg on Stormscale (US-H). They restored my faith in the dungeon finder. Even after a couple wipes in heroic Deadmines, nobody raged or even talked much smack other than a little strat tweaks and some good-natured ribbing. It was honestly the most fun I've had in a heroic yet, and I hope I run into them again -- Geoseppy of Spirestone (US-H)Employment: Guild recruitment
Looking for more? Send in your guild name, realm, a link to your guild website or armory listing and a sentence or two on your guild's focus (10-man, RP, late-night raiding, whatever) to theclassifieds@wow.com.
10-man <Team Sport> of Ner'zhul (US-A) is a laid-back, tight-knit group with a serious 10-man raiding core. Looking for serious and friendly raiders (no mages, sorry) of any class/role for a few spots.
Chilled <Frosty Forever> of Drenden (US-A) is looking for more fun-loving and mature players to join our ranks. If you're a mature person who puts real life ahead of game but would still like to see endgame content, we're the guild for you. Please apply on our web site or speak to any of our members for more information.
Need Healers <Riders of Gilead> is a Ysera (US) Alliance guild currently seeking non-paladin healers (I'm sorry, it breaks my pally-loving heart) and ranged DPS for our Tuesday and Thursday evening raids. We require Teamspeak3, DBM and a threat-monitoring device. We offer the knowledgeable backing of a stable group, 3 years and running, working under a Shroud points system.
New Guild <Imperious> of Sargeras (US-A) is a new guild hoping to accomplish something huge, a multi-faceted guild made up of a 25-man hardcore team, PvP rated BG team, social raiding team and everything in between. We are looking for serious, motivated players who love the game.
Puget Sound <Overcast> of Vashj (US-A) is recruiting new members from the Seattle/Puget Sound area. We are now running heroics/raids on Tuesday-Thursday at 8:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. and building our rated BG team. We welcome all mature, adult players who love the game and want to have more in common with their guildmates. More information can be found on our guild site.
Small and Casual <PlanEx> of Exodar (US-H) is looking to flesh out its numbers. We're a small group of friends looking to run randoms and some very casual raiding. We'll take any class/level with a good relaxed attitude that fits in with a working adult schedule.
Tight-knit Group <Simple> of Zul Jin (US-A) is looking for a healer and ranged DPS to join our main 10-man group. We raid Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8.00 p.m. until midnight. We are a group of hard-mode raiding friends pushing to do the same in Cataclysm. If you're looking for a casual guild environment with serious raiding progression goals, please apply at Simple.

Just when I think there is no hope left for humanity, out comes The Classifieds with the Random Acts of Uberness to slam the Oversized Salmon of Good Thoughts across my head...

Thank you, Mr. Gray, for again running our advertisement for . We are accruing the server's dense population of paladins, much to my girlish delight, but my boss has asked me to hunt for non-paladin healers. It's so very, very sad.
And he actually wants WARLOCKS. You know a deathknight is well and truly dead when he asks for a ROGUE to recruit a WARLOCK. I only know how to talk to them with my knives. ..chainfearingbastages.

So bring him a Priest specced Holy/Shadow, tell him you got lazy so you decided to roll his two requests into one. Presto!
Kajira Jan 12th 2011 2:34PM
Oooh, hm. Yes. That could work. That's a great idea, Swifteye!
Okay, here we go. Shadow/Holy Hybrids, please get into this basket right here and go apply at RidersofGilead.com. The basket is full of...um..Int. And Spellpower? Whatever the hell it is you guys like to eat. That's the stats that are in the basket. We give our clothies free Espresso, all the time, whenever they want it. So just get into the basket.

Appreciate the guild shout out for ! You guys rock!
It's also always nice to see heroic run success stories. I was in a great Deadmines group last night. We pretty much rolled through to Cookie, and then wiped 4-5 times before downing him. Very positive group, supportive, healer guided us really well through the final gauntlet encounter.

Wait, is this a toolbar like the typical toolbar. Sits on your browser, taking up screenspace?
I am sorry, no, no matter who they are from, toolbars suck.
I have to clean enuf of the damned things off people's computers, sometimes so bad they literally only have a few inches of space visible, the rest being taken up by toolbars. Especially considering damn near everything comes with them now.
And 90% of them are spyware. Wasting screenspace, taking up resources, most likely reporting back your surfing habits to a marketing company. Not worth it. And that's just the "legit" ones. The other ones will probably downright steal your shit ("Here, download and install this toolbar to access our porn!" kind.)
