The Daily Quest: Trinkets, yes!

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Oh, trinkets. Over the course of Wrath of the Lich King, trinkets were the bane of my existence. They never seemed to drop, and when one eventually did, every melee DPSer was on the sucker like a pack of starving mountain lions on a bloated zhevra carcass. Cataclysm seems to be a good luck charm this time around, as trinkets are considerably easier to obtain. Bracers, on the other hand ... well, let's not speak of bracers. But just like good old Talon King Ikiss, people definitely want all the pretty trinkets they can get their hands on. Let's take a look around the blogosphere for a few posts on trinkets and other coveted items.
- Totem Forest has an excellent post detailing what shiny mana-regen healing trinkets are currently lurking in game.
- Speaking of shiny things, World of Techcraft has the details on how to make lots of glittering gold with alchemy and herbalism.
- Speaking of alchemy, Pwnwear has a wonderful list of tasty consumables for tanks.
- Speaking of consumables, Daughter of Ravenholdt Manor discusses which delicious fish rogues should hunt for.

Holy $%#*! The ZONE you do your living elements transmute in affects the outcome?
Mind. Blown.

More information on that transmute here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1406721952?page=1#1

I can't believe you guys still play WoW and think it's good. You're not gamers, you're WoW players. The game sucks and there's are dozen better games out there.
I was going to wait and respond to the next 20 people who quote subscription numbers but coming back's a waste of time. Popular doesn't always mean better. Justin Bieber anyone?
Next, stop calling everything a WoW clone. New games aren't a clone of WoW. They're clones of the games that WoW cloned. Nothing in your game is original and your community is full of fail.
Suck it retards!

Is this comment supposed to hurt our feelings or something?

"I can't believe you guys still play WoW and think it's good."
People having different opinions of things is a pretty difficult concept to understand, I guess.

Nice graphics. Will it run on a super nintendo?

Who pissed on your pop-tart this morning, there's a reason wow is the most played. And when a better mmo finally comes out, I'm sure it will take over that spot handily. Note I said better
Shade Jan 14th 2011 6:16PM
Yes but how much did your rig cost to be able to run PS3-level graphics? How much do you pay for internet each month?
I'm perfectly content playing WoW on my mid-low range rig on a middle-band connection and keeping the money I'm saving in my pocket.
Y'know, for when I have to pay off my school loans. Maybe your games are a million times better, but if that's true I'm glad I'm playing such a crappy game. WoW is enough of a distraction; if I had something a million times better, I'd have failed out of college ages ago.

I'm starting to get the impression that we shouldn't believe people who preemptively claim they aren't going to come back to respond in these situations. It's almost as if they want attention or something.

Rofl you hate the game, but still find time in your busy schedule of nerdrage to post on sites ABOUT the game you hate? And WE'RE the suckers? I love these posts. They make my day.

Judging by your profile, you seem to enjoy wow, and frequently post on wow insider. In fact, you have over 200 comments on the website since you created your account 4 years ago. So, what's with the sudden change of heart? Finally decided that you don't want to play anymore? Fine, no one except for your friends cares, and quite honestly I fail to see why you are bothering with trolling. If I didn't care about wow, I'd probably be watching hulu or playing CoD right now. So...why are you here again?

over 250 comments on this site, theres gotta be something you like about it

Another good resource for trinkets is Ask Mr Robot's post on evaluating stats and procs: http://forums.askmrrobot.com/index.php?topic=770.msg8520#new

Good job not coming back to read the comments on your flame post...follow-through not something they teach at the elementary school you so obviously attend?

By lucky accident I wrote an article today on t11 hunter gearing, mostly focusing on trinkets:

From the linked 'World of Techcraft' Alchemy and Herbs gold making article;
"AH HA! 14-16 Volatile Air x 40g = 560-640g!"
Commits the fatal mistake of omitting the cost of the mats to make it ie 15 Volatile Life, say around 10g/each gives say 150g cost so 410-490g profit. Still decent but poor economic advice.

I was lucky enough to get an agility trinket from one of my first heroics. Since then, nothing. Not surprising...
New post up at my blog, called "Guilds & Curling Leagues". All about the similarities between a real life commitment and a WoW guild, and the responsibilities that come with it.

Enjoy!

Its been probably 2 years since ive been to that bird boss, but i STILL remember how obnoxiously crazy he sounded, and sounded out the captions in my own rendition of the voice acting.
:p

Moonraker,
The article talks about herbalism and alchemy as a combo of professions for making gold quickly. In the article it states that he farms ask his mats through herbalism. So his cost to make the volatile air is just time.
dacamper Jan 15th 2011 5:14AM
For sure doing the transmute in the right place can make gold every day, I used to make gold from Alchemy by doing Earth to Air in vanilla, primals in Tbc and Epic gems in Wrath. It's steady gold, not lots, but will keep you in flasks if you don't raid too much.
Since you asked (in the post ending) I have a feral Druid blog at http://wayofthedruid.blogspot.com but I have not yet done a post on trinkets, sorry ;)
