Breakfast Topic: What are you looking forward to in patch 4.0.6?

Patch 4.0.6 is looking to be a little bigger than I thought it would be. Despite being full of class changes galore, there's really not much in there that affects me as an assassination rogue (although the Blade Flurry changes are making me rethink the combat tree). There are, however, other changes I'm looking forward to -- it's going to be nice to have someplace to dump those extra Justice Points I have cluttering up my currency tab. And I'm looking forward to getting an armadillo pet just as soon as my guild finishes eagerly murdering a metric ton of innocent critters, instead of having to wait until I finally get exalted reputation with my guild.
Don't look at me like that.
What are you looking forward to in patch 4.0.6? Any profession changes that strike your fancy, or are the class changes things you've been looking forward to seeing? Are there any dungeons changes you're silently thanking the Blizzard devs for finally addressing?

"Starfall will no longer strike targets that are not in combat and will now drop stars at a slightly faster rate."
When I read this, I swore I heard a hallelujah chorus.

But I use starfall to pull mobs when rep farming (well tanaris pirates).
What will i sue now apart from moonfire that only costs 6 mana a time?
CaryEverett Jan 15th 2011 8:36AM
Don't care! Won't have random and arbitrary wipes from moonkins in my group anymore!
Hih Jan 15th 2011 9:14AM
I once had a Moonkin use Starfall on the Helix nightmare in DM. Ya know, the part where there's about a hundred spiders 10 yards away from you?
Ya...

Have to admit I'm a little annoyed by this. It's the perfect aoe for rep grinding. It'll be nice to use it in dungeons etc, but I use it mostly on mobs for loremaster etc. I wish they'd make a glyph that would change it
Cassie Jan 15th 2011 10:33AM
I have mixed feeling about this part, for reasons that have already been mentioned... However in general, I think my moonkin is going to be verrrry happy. And I'm looking forward to the alchemy changes, too!!

They should add a Glyph that makes the change in the Starfall skill.

Rebuke being baseline so the dang healers will quit yelling at my prot pally "WTF y u bad at interruptz all other tanks gudder wat u mean GCD makes it hard lolfail!!"
...
... sorry... most healers aren't like that, I know. But you run into the few that ARE and it just reeeeeeeeeeeally grates after a while, heh.
MusedMoose Jan 15th 2011 9:10AM
I'm just glad that prot paladins will have an interrupt, even if we don't get it for a while. I just started tanking, and I'm forever trying to hit my "use this for the interrupt on any character I play" button when something casts a spell, and nothing happens. @_@ A welcome change, even for a very amateur tank like me.

First thing that came to my mind after seeing this topic...
REBUKE for Prot. Paladins. Damn about time. Hell yes.
krashthemighty Jan 21st 2011 11:05PM
Avengers shield is an interrupt.
MichaelBerean Jan 17th 2011 9:38AM
Just in case anyone is not aware, the current live prot paladin interrupts are avenger's shield and hammer of justice. With 4.0.6 I believe this will be avenger's shield and rebuke.
I have to agree, I love this change.

Archaeology is horrible to level mostly due to travel time and the awful survey mechanic but thankfully the CD on survey is being reduced in the patch - this is one change I am looking forward to. I might actually get it past 30 points then! :D
Baba Jan 15th 2011 9:15AM
Just in time to hit the other archaeology change, which is that finding fragments only consistently reward you with levels up to lvl 50 ;)

Uggg . . . archeology . . .
I can only stand it when I'm in vent with friends, as that then, becomes my main entertainment while I do the travel-grind. One of the things that Blizzard does best . . . give you some decent reward as you level anything, is rather scant in Arch. People do it to get some high level items (ESPECIALLY Alchemists) or the few pets and the mount. But very few people say they LOVE or ENJOY the activity. I'm one who loves to travel, discover and sight-see, and have a high tolerance for farming, fishing and herbing but even I get bored at the long grind and find many of the items irritating for the amount of time and effort it took to get them. While the lore angle is cool, it's somewhat detached, as the much revealed about the culture seem very trivial (which, I suppose, is like real archeology where MOST finds are trivial). As we grind away, friends and I think of many ways of improving either the experience or rewards.
I know it would be a LOT of work for Blizzard, but wouldn't it be fun if creation of certain artifacts opened up cinematics that you could turn on from the archeology book? Could be documentary style (with maybe Harrison explaining the significance of the item, or adding some amusing commentary), SHOW something of the artifact as it was used in the culture or at the very least, show a rotating 3 dimensional picture of the actual item, so you'd know what it was that you actually dug up. I can just see the Items designers having a field day with this. Then, from then on, you could see the cinematic anytime you wanted and maybe even "share" it with friends somehow.
Another was the thought of more pets (and I chose that item because it won't take up inventory space), maybe one per culture, one more mount, and maybe small items that you could ONLY get from archeology that would just come up randomly with a piece of artifact (as do the little booster items, but different). Maybe clothing to wear? Ancient potions with secret recipes that no one has figured out (how about something that might make you do an ancient lost dance from that culture when you take the potion?) Maybe special items that you could take to Harrison for rewards? Secret keys? Maps and documents with fun puzzles to solve or again, take back to the library for some exchange with the illustrious Archeology professor, or some reward or title??? ANYTHING to break up the travel-travel-travel, dig-walk-walk-walk-click, dig-walk-walk-click, dig-walk-walk-fly up-walk-kill low level mob-walk-click, rinse repeat, solve, sell grey item, etc., etc. monotony that it becomes after a short while. I would love more items that are fun and interesting but offer no benefit to your ability to run dungeons or pvp . . . something where you FEEL the excitement of discovery. OOOH . . .how about certain items "trigger" Harrison or other people (or even ancient entities) to come out and interact with you? (No, not like rare bosses to kill, but something that's just cool to experience).
Archeology, has much potential, as discovery, mystery-solving, etc. could add a lot to the game. As it is now, it's a huge GRIND with a very small amount of rare artifacts that everyone wants to get, that are so few and far between that most of it is just mind numbing to the point that I've heard people say that FISHING is more fun. The RNG involved can be overly painful.
Sorry, I know I went off-topic of the original post, but just seeing the word "archeology" made me think to write all this. :)

The adjustment to the duration of Divine Plea really makes me happy as a holy pal. The 50% reduction in healing has always been fairly rough, and by both increasing the amount of mana restored and reducing the reduction time it will allow three things: 1) for the times when you simply don't have a GCD to use judge every time you can, it allows mana regen to be more forgiving; 2) it means that there's a lower portion of the fight - the fights where you need divine plea the most are the ones where finding a way to reducing your healing by half are often the hardest, and 3) it makes it far more practical too that you can use plea and then click it off to get a tick or two back of mana that can still be enough to make a big difference - sort of like how they changed Mage Evocation in order to allow it to be used more practically in part or in full.
Nicholas Healey Jan 15th 2011 8:20AM
This. Plus the reduction in Forbearance time.
Although the Protector of the Innocent nerf might prove to be painful. Literally. Will have to see how this plays out.

Resto Druid changes, I can finally use rejuv again fir more than spot heals.
And the wild growth change is nice
Also I agree with the justice point vendor seemed odd that there wasn't one from the start
Metalupis Jan 15th 2011 8:14AM
The fact that they finally fixed combats mastery bonus make me all sorts of happy.
As for the blade flurry change, all it really means is that you now have to remember to turn it off once you are down to fighting just one target, I'm really not sure I like the change
