The Queue: Nothing

You people. I link you one of the year's best screenplays, and you spend four pages of comments talking about how Facebook is evil. All I did was link you a cool thing! So today I'm not even doing that. Today you get ... Nothing.
Aerowannabe asked:
Does anyone remember the devs talking about updating the professions at low level in order to make them more viable? I'm not expecting crafting gear to be better than dungeon stuff or anything, but it would be nice if there at least some things they could craft that help leveling.
I'm not really sure what you mean -- craftable stuff at low level is still pretty good, from the blacksmithing armor with +hit on it to jewelcrafting pieces that have no real competition for several early level brackets.
Butts asked:
If VP items from 4.0 will cost JP instead in 4.1, then how is this in line with keeping epics epic? Will the VP gear, currently purple, turn blue once it becomes available through JP? If not, won't this just be a repeat of the issues we faced in Wrath with inflated epic gear for everyone? Perhaps epics are only meant to feel epic at the beginning of the expansion?
Your Rusted Protodrake didn't turn into a Red Drake when 3.3 hit, did it? It would be pretty silly and unnecessarily cruel to turn someone's epics blue just because a new tier was introduced. My Felstriker never turned into a blue when AQ came out.
Your gear will become outdated. It will become easier for everyone else to get over time. You will get pretty new gear to replace it. This is the nature of the beast.
Speaking of epics ...
Cutaia asked:
Can we confirm once and for all whether or not color affects the item budgets on items?
I've seen very convincing evidence where the stat budget of green items has been shown to be the same as blue items of the same iLevel. Even Fox Van Allen has been evangelizing the "new" method of stat budgeting for Cataclysm.
Epics used to have a higher item budget than blues, which in turn had a higher item budget than greens. This is no longer the case as of Cataclysm. A blue item at ilvl 318 will have the same amount of stamina and intellect (for example) as a green item at ilvl 318. There is no additional stat budget the higher you go up on the "rarity" chain.
Honestly, at this point there's little point to the rarity color system at all. We only really need two colors: white for items with no stats on them, and green for items with stats on them.
Alpha5099 asked:
I've been using Hex a lot in heroics nowadays, but it sometimes seems to act strangely. Hex sometimes seems to just break on its own. Sometimes it's obvious that the tank or a DPS accidentally attacked it, but there are times when I'm certain that no one has done a single thing to my frog and it still breaks prematurely.
My thinking is that maybe there's some sort of hit check going on during the duration of a CC. I'm in resto spec, so the only hit I have is from Heroic Presence; I've seen Hex miss a few times, but is there some sort of failure rate during its duration I don't know about?
Hex (and some other CCs) appear to have what's called a "heartbeat resist check." The CC can break early if the resist check fails -- that is, if the mob resists that tick of the spell. Blizzard has never really spoken publicly about the resist check, but we're pretty sure it exists. If anyone has more information on it, please let me know in the comments.

Canvas: pure white, except for a slightly oblong black smudge in the middle.

The artwork really shows off the sneeze on my screen.

As long as they don't put the "broken image" icon up as the picture so I'm sitting here reloading and trying to figure out why Chrome is borked, I'm fine with no real picture.

...I have seen posts bathed in the writer's flames. Their typos fading with out so much as a QQer. Entire comment threads, posted and replyed in the time it takes your trollish heart to beat once.
Yet all through out, my own posts, filled with wonderous pictures and links...
I...have posted...NOTHING!
A million, MILLION pics wasted! Had they all held withen them the same enjoyment as you show with this blank screen? Had they all received as much attention as this screen!?
...Perhaps, it is your trollingness, that which allows you little taste. That allows you to percivier against all cute animal pictures against all calculated odds.
YOU prevail where WoWInsider's own posts failed.
I've rearranged the picture html. This queue WILL be spared.
Go, posters, and save your Queue!

Here is a question for you.......now that Blizz has actually implemented the reason for kick in LFG so that you have to put in a reason, do you think that they will ever make it show up when you get kicked from a grp. I have been kicked before, as I'm sure most have, and have often wondered the reason given. I think it may even be helpful to those of us who care what others think so that we know what to work on:)

@Maymer : That was so epic I don't even think I have words for it. Thank you!

@Maymer: Very nice post. Only one thing marred it, but I persevered nonetheless.

My cc never seems to break early.(MC and repentance). Maybe it has to do with hit or the RNG likes me for the these checks.
Scunosi Jan 15th 2011 1:21PM
If you're a DPS in a Heroic, where the hit cap is fairly easy to reach, (unless you're a Warrior, but they tend to not CC :P) then there should really be no reason for this "heartbeat resist" thing to happen.
As a Moonkin with a lot of excess Spirit, I had to go back and reforge all my Spirit pieces to something more useful I had so much hit. I know it's not that easy for everybody, but Heroics only need like 7% hit.
Rakah Jan 15th 2011 2:27PM
i'd also like to point out that harmlight token(http://www.wowhead.com/item=63839) has a tandancy to apply with CC and also likes to spread onto CC'ed targets. stupid trinket.
Schadenfreude Jan 15th 2011 2:52PM
In my experience it seems like some CCs never break, like repentance and sap, whereas my hex breaks all the time, which is really annoying when it's on a long cooldown. With polymorph, etc. the heartbeat resists don't matter as much since they're easily recast.
goldfish_girl99 Jan 15th 2011 2:59PM
I play a Resto Druid and if I am asked to root a mob my roots will usually break early. My off-spec is balance and my roots never break early when I cast them as Boomkin. Therefore I have assumed that hit rating does affect the duration of cc.
cyanea85 Jan 15th 2011 3:50PM
I'm a Resto Shaman, and my Hex almost always breaks early. It's become something of a joke in guild runs. As far as I know, they make a resist check against your Hit Rating every few seconds, and since I have none...it breaks.
It's fine when Bind Elemental does it, cause I can just throw that up. But Hex has that stupidly long CD.
Michael Miller Jan 15th 2011 12:07PM
I'm pretty sure that I've recenly read a blue comment and confirm the heartbeat resist check. Can't look it up right now though.
