I've recruited my sister to the game, and will enjoy working on getting my mother into the game as well. When I recruit my family, I set them on different servers so they can enjoy the game by themselves, perhaps get their own experiences out of it and hopefully make plenty of new friends! I've made Deathknight alts on each of their respective realms so I can help them if they need anything, but tend to leave them to their own devices.
My sister wasn't really into WoW when she first picked it up, but have seen a slight increase in her activity with Cataclysm. I'm happy she's enjoying the game again. She comes to me often for advice with social matters in the game, sometimes with lingo inquiries and theory-crafting. I've tried forwarding her to WoW Insider, but she seems content to try and figure it out herself (and if not, consult the younger brother). She seems to have a few friends who live around her area who play too, and I'm happy for her.
When I get my mother into the game, I hope she can pick it up as well as she has to make it into a nice hobby--I want her to enjoy her leisure time more.
