I am in a Hardcore 25 man guild. I am a healer, and I don't talk in vent. I have a mic, but will never use it because the wife is asleep in the room right next to me and ANY voice communication will aggro her and wipe me from the raid. I have never, never, in all my years of raiding (Since release) found it a handicap.I can hear everyone in vent, I know what I am doing, why on earth would I need to chat about it?

The day you get incapacitated by an unavoidable boss mechanic and don't communicate that, and your healing assignment dies, is the day that you need to chat about it.This can happen quite often for certain heroic modes, so I find it hard to believe you are in a hardcore raid guild and not talking on vent.

^ thisppl who need vent to be good are simply not good enough to start with. vent shouldnt be crutch to drag ppl who didnt bother to research the boss through encounter. it should be for raidleaders assigining roles/etc or for emergencies. i play 2 tanks and 2 healers in usually 2-3 raidnights per week and never found my lack of microphone handicaping anyone.
