While the alchy stone has been hotfixed. The engineering goggles can still be Dis-enchanted. While some may consider it expensive, the value of having the enchant (for selling to other players) outweighs the "cost" of the BoP orb. On my server the crystals are going for about 1k on the AH and the professionals that are hawking their (BoP)Orb created items are requiring a 1k "tip" (plus mats) so it all evens out in the end. My Hunter engi/chanter is sitting on a stack of orbs with nothing else useful to make for myself.
