As an life long affliction lock ... Soul burn? I think you start out with 2/3 shards and never use any, why not Soul Burn -> Life drain, damn that's a very hard hitting spell.

Not to mention while on guard you can easily refresh it.

Not sure whats going on with the healthstones. I mean you showed up with one, why not make some more those times when your idle guarding.
