This question is way off topic, but I'll ask it anyway. I have been trying to solo marrowgar on my hunter but every time he casts bone spike I get killed. In all the solo videos I've seen; marrowgar hasn't castes bone spike. Does anyone know how to avoid it?

I imagine that all the solo videos you are watching are truly solo, like the death knight. You, however, are not really solo. You have a pet. Marrowgar will not spike his primary target, the tank. Since that is your pet, you are still a perfectly valid spike target.

I read somewhere that Goblins and Worgen can't be spiked so all the hunters you see soloing him are those races...
