The Queue: Sheesh

Why yes, I actually do know that Travel Form isn't castable indoors, not only because I was overtired and just made a mistake when I wrote yesterday's Queue, but also because 28 of you posted the exact same comment telling me that Travel Form isn't castable indoors. I even corrected the post, and people still posted the same "Travel Form isn't castable indoors" comment like the article had never changed. What the heck, people?
My own fault, though. I'm never writing The Queue at 4 a.m. again. Well, except this time.
Sapphyre asked:
I've been wearing my heirloom shoulders on my alt priest for her entire life. It says in the tooltip "requires 1-80" yet I dinged 81 and it didn't force them off. Am i still receiving the 10% exp bonus by having them equipped or are they not working anymore and should be replaced with better stat gear?
, Heirlooms are still wearable past level 80, but their stats will no longer scale and you will not receive the experience bonus from them either.
Radioted asked:
Where are some good spots for grinding leather in Cata zones?
Er, by "grinding leather" I mean getting in some sweet skinning action. You know.
The crocolisk pond area in southern Tol Barad is a great place to do it. Commenter Ata notes that the black dragons in the Obsidian Forest in Twilight Highlands are also ripe for farmin'.
Docseuzz asked:
I (foolishly) decided to level my tank through mostly (90%) running instances. While this was good from a gear and instance knowledge perspective, it's left me fubar'ed when it comes to rep. That combined with tank gear at multiple exalted factions -- what's the most effective way to fix it without having to double back and run all of Hyjal, Uldum, and/or Twilight Highlands? In others words, what's the best rep grind championing instance?
Well, in terms of sheer number of bosses, Halls of Origination is probably your best bet, but honestly, it would take less time to just run through the zones! On top of the rep you get for completing quests, you also get a ton of gold for completing quests at max level. It's win-win.

What is that big-ass mountain south of the actual Tol Barad BG? Its right over where Kelp Forest would be if the place wasnt instanced but the island above Vashjir is hardly 1/10 of its size.
Task Jan 23rd 2011 2:12PM
I would call it Big Ass Mountain (South) or BAMS for short. Joke aside, i'm guessing it is as of now an unnamed mountain range and just a natural creation because of the Shattering.
cloudhopper013 Jan 23rd 2011 2:25PM
My guess would be it's the rest of Kul'Tiras. Kul'Tiras was a whole nation if I understand, and TB was only part of it (even though it took up where it all should have been on the map, which left me confused).
Wulfkin Jan 23rd 2011 3:22PM
Tol Bard isn't really even part of Kul'Tiras. It's an island that used to be owned by Stromgarde, and was then later claimed by Kul'Tiras sometime after the Second War. So it's not really part of the nation at all, just a nearby island they put a flag on. It is entirely possible that the mountain range you can see is Kul'Tiras proper, or it could be something else entirely.

It's that mountain/island which came up with the Shattering. Before you go to Vashj'ir, soldiers are talking about it. There's also a gryphon master on the island. Kul Tiras is NOT in the game. Tol Barad is only these "two" isles, which should be actually one whole island. In War2 it had a different shapen. But as we know, gameplay overwrites lore. Sunwell isle had a different shape and size aswell.
Sarducci Jan 23rd 2011 6:30PM
The island the soldiers before Vash are talking about is clearly tol barad.
Vaeku Jan 23rd 2011 6:45PM
@Sarducci
Um, no, they aren't. Tol Barad didn't rise up from the seafloor because of the Shattering, it was there all along. They're talking about that sandbar-type island that has the FPs to IF and such.
Myst45 Jan 23rd 2011 7:48PM
I farsighted over to that mountain that you speak of from the southern tower in Tol Barad. Its nothing but undeveloped space. You could probably swim out there, but I am not sure. It is not the sand bar with the FP masters for Vashj'ir.

But Ghostwolf is castable in doors! Haters will always hate, and on behalf of the community thank you for continuing to answer our questions from the most banal and easily self-googleable to the most complex.

I'd also like to thank you for simply acknowledging a mistake and correcting it. Takes a big person sometimes to do something so small...

Small point, but the original post from Mr Sacco still says "they're instant-cast (talented, for Ghost Wolf) and usable indoors" - dunno about Shamans, but that implies the insta-cast for Shaman is available if you spend the talent points, but both are usable indoors...

Say - Please read the whole post...
The benefit of class-specific speed-increase forms (like Ghost Wolf and talented Cat Form) isn't that they're as fast as a mount, it's that they're instant-cast (talented, for Ghost Wolf) and usable indoors. You can even use them during combat. You sacrifice a little speed compared to your mount but gain a lot of utility.
NOTE it says "Talented Cat Form" not "Travel Form".

From my understanding, Heirloom items will still provide a bonus to exp at level 80. It is as soon as you hit 81, the bonus stops. So, might as well enjoy the boost as long as you can.
zweitblom Jan 23rd 2011 2:29PM
No, they don't. I can tell from my own experience.

watch at 1:00. they do in fact work, unless blizz hotfixed it
wow Jan 23rd 2011 3:44PM
@BGO Why is this so hard to understand? The don't work, period. There are plenty of Blizzard resources out there that state the same thing.
David Jan 23rd 2011 4:54PM
Actually the person who was World 1st stated they do in fact work, or did, he used ot to 81 to boost his leveling to get to World 1st faster. Do your research before you post please, they MIGHT of hot-fixed it but I doubt they would. Level 80 is level 80 until it is level 81.
Deathgodryuk Jan 23rd 2011 8:02PM
I like it when people indignantly and angrily reply with wrong information as if they know what they're talking about, it's the best.
Nyold Jan 23rd 2011 11:44PM
@wow: Why is this so hard to understand? They work, period. There are plenty of youtube videos that show they work.
renork Jan 24th 2011 12:59AM
that was hotfixed a LONG time ago. They no longer work from 80-81; though they did when Cata was first released.
