I've always loved questing, and the moment I got to 80 I tried to find an achievement that I would be proud of. I scrolled through the list and eventually found one I thought would be fun to do: Loremaster.
I was young and foolish.
I didn't know the agony that awaited me in Old Azeroth. I was not aware of the disjointed quest lines I had left behind as I leveled. Quests hubs in the middle of nowhere, escort quests that took days of trekking through harsh tar pits, quests that had me traveling across the entire world in order to pick up some laundry. Silithus in general. I was not prepared.
But then came that moment in Ferales. The moment I turned in that last quest and completed a goal that had taken me a year. It was one of the happiest moments I've had in the game. Doing the Ulduar hard modes? Pah. Beating ToC? Lame. The Lich King? Nothing compared to what it felt like after achieving Loremaster, the goal I had set for myself.
