Watch Paragon tackle Lady Sinestra
The encounter itself looks hectic and challenging, with constant streams of adds and a pretty epic confrontation between Sinestra and an interesting lore figure from Twilight Highlands. <Method>, the second guild to down Sinestra, has also released their video, which can be seen here.

dam their UIs are real nice. even the boomkins on methods

I'd love for Mat to do a "Reader UI" that focuses on some of these raid videos.
p.s. - the hunter UI is TukUI. Never seen it in raid action like that, looked pretty nice.

That's an excellent idea. I'd love to know the add-on that "blooms" action bar items (not sure the word for it) when they are off cooldown - it really got my attention on the rogue and boomkin.

Yes
Hivetyrant Jan 24th 2011 8:31PM
Yay, looks like they finally brought out their rogues!

Why does Calen keep calling her a different name?
itsthebrent Jan 24th 2011 8:45PM
Her real name is "Sintharia" (spelling). After she disguised herself as a human she took on the name Lady Sinestra. Much like Katrina Prestor for Onyxia, and Lord Daval Prestor for Deathwing.
Kvothe Jan 24th 2011 8:56PM
Just as Korialstraz uses the name Krasus while in humanoid form, so too does the dragon Sintharia use the name Sinestra. Night of the Dragon (ugh, Knaack) states that Sinestra goes primarily by her humanoid name and does not use the name Sintharia much at all. Calen seems to be directly provoking her by using her dragon name. When I saw the video it threw me for a bit of a loop as well :)

Why I'll never beat this boss:
- Becuase I'll be too busy giggling like a school girl during the 100% Haste phase to pay attention to mechanics.

I was just gobsmacked that when the buff was applied, she still had around 55% health left O.o
That is an incredibly long fight
Reklisc Jan 24th 2011 9:08PM
Is the fact that she's growing the eggs still the big secret? If so, that's still a bit of a let-down.
But after seeing this, I now know I'm not going to be involved in Grim Batol, nevermind Heroic, until WAY down the road, because I SO don't have the skills for that.
Necromann Jan 24th 2011 9:16PM
Um... Grim Batol is a 5 man. This is a raid.
Gossamer Jan 24th 2011 10:17PM
The queue said she was the secret.
Avan Jan 24th 2011 11:07PM
It's a secret to everybody.
Pyromelter Jan 25th 2011 1:41AM
The secret is the fact that she is there, and that she is incubating the eggs. Supposedly the last broodmother was a dragon that was killed by heroes in a quest in Twilight Highlands. Sinestra and the eggs she is caring for were Deathwing's ace-in-the hole, and now no longer has a budding army of dragons to terrorize Azeroth.
Also, if you notice, Calen dies. That may be just as significant as the other things I mentioned.

I updated a rundown of the fight as best I could from the two videos on Wowhead. You can find the rundown here:

lesicor.caerlon Jan 25th 2011 9:09AM
Didn't they use a Bear Tank not a Prot Pally? I'm pretty sure that in the video, it's a bear tanking and that Paragon generally uses the Bear to tank more often...
iwubyou Jan 24th 2011 9:30PM
lol there were like five people left in the raid she finally went down. They pulled it off despite a bajillion hot fixes between fights, too. Good on 'em.
Iirdan Jan 24th 2011 10:31PM
Gotta say, the clock ticking down there at the end with the massively expanding purple puddles was quite epic. It would certainly add the tension necessary for a DPS race, and purple stuff covering the platform is more imposing than an invisible enrage timer.
Twill Jan 24th 2011 10:39PM
Hey, they got out of the fire. And ran from blobs. And ooze. and more ooze blobs.
Performance at its best. Truly spectacular, I love watching a well oiled team execute something so brilliantly.
