The blood shield stacking does not come close to making up for the extremely large nerf to blood shield base values. Even with stacking shields, tanks still won't want to death strike several times in a row, as they will be wasting the heal. The stacking shields change simply makes bad play somewhat less punitive.
In addition, tying the 10% physical damage debuff to blood plague (unholy rune) rather than blood boil (blood rune) means that blood DKs will be death striking less often in 4.0.6.
Make no mistake-- blood DK survivability is getting significantly nerfed this patch. Blood DK damage and threat (not that more threat was needed) are being significantly buffed, to the point that blood DKs should do roughly the same damage as bears.
