I disagree that Stamina is king, I have ALWAYS been an evasion tank when tanking and I have never had a healer say I was tough to heal. In fact most healers have told me I was their favorite tank.
And now in the age of healers running out of mana, spamming big heals and tanking mainly on your health pool is just TERRIBLE advice.
Evasion wins, hands down.

Bigger health pool=bigger self heal+bigger blood shield.
Stop raging. As of now, stam and mastery are still king. Just as stam was in Wrath when you were doing it wrong...

Just a note here: disagreeing with someone is not the same thing as "raging."
It's certainly possible to have a respectful discussion without deteriorating into name-calling and angry insults (despite what you see on cable news and internet forums.)

I just want to point out that while there are always cases where your avoidance came come through for you and in Cata avoidance is certainly more difficult if you've never had healers who've had an issue then I'm thoroughly surprised.
Fights like Sindragosa HM or even just base mechanics like LK's Soul Reaper, essentially almost any major hit in all of Wrath, couldn't give a damn what your avoidance was. That's why everyone told you to stack stamina.
In this expansion things are different. Avoidance is a lot stronger as those massive hits aren't likely to one or two shot you anymore.
One thing from the post that I want to see fixed: "Hit and expertise are not as mandatory as they are for most DPS"
Stop freaking telling people that! I'm so *sick* of hearing this. Do you have any idea how bloody irritating Halfus gets when a tank has 4%-5% hit and he's on Shadow Nova interrupts? Gahhh.

I was under the impression that due to diminished combat ratings in Cataclysm, pure stats were much better than ratings on a point by point basis. I was reading over at EJ that, for example, +40 agi was much better than any associated ratings, since ratings are roughly 25% as good per point as they used to be at 80 whereas pure stats progress at a flat rate. Admittedly, this was not a tanking discussion. Does this not apply to stam and avoidance ratings?
