After leveling Arch on 2 characters to max in hopes of getting SOMETHING epic for my 85s and turning up nothing. 1000g isn't enough.
But still, the new prices are very generous and I'm very pleased to have a crap ton of random stuff still in my bag ready to sell to a vendor.

Too much in what way? it's not like it's super easy to get, archaeology requires a lot of time invested. Considering gold incomes these days 1000g is a drop in the ocean.

Leveling it on a second character is *not* the way to get epics you can use. You figure out which epic you want, and you go grind the sites that give you that type of artifact. The vast majority of archaeology takes place above the 525 cap if you want anything good out of it from anything but pure luck.

@Barinthos: Why do you want Blizzard to pay you to look for BOA epics?

While I agree in theory that 1000g isn't much nowadays for a vendor trash item (after all, wasn't there items you could get from fishing that would vendor for that much back in WOTLK?) when none of the other prices even came close (there was one for 180g, and then nothing over 100g) it really wasn't fair. It was like hoping for a rare grey... which, at that point, you might as well just make it a rare.
The even prices are much more fair and reasonable. But anyone who says 1000g isn't enough for the time and effort put into 525 archaeology has never levelled it that far. :P

Ok, just to clear things up. I leveled it on two characters just to level them because i was bored with quests. So archaeology was something else to do randomly. So I'm perfectly aware of how to "farm" for a specific race.
@Ettin - I don't care if I don't get the epics, but wasting a massive amount of time on random trash that doesn't even make it worth the effort when compared to killing a random 85 in twilight highlands is pretty lame. And i'm positive I'm not the only one that thinks this way because the profession forums are filled with threads regarding the same issue (QQing about no epics not included).
